² For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, proud, verbally abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, savage, haters of good, ⁴ betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And turn away from these. ⁶ For out of this sort are those entering into households and taking captive weak women, burdened with sins, being led away by various passions,

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and unfit for any good work.
