²⁵ Now concerning those of the Gentiles having believed, we wrote, having adjudged them to keep from both the things offered to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and sexual immorality.”

¹¹ But now, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone being designated a brother if he is sexually immoral or a coveter, or an idolater or verbal abuser, or a drunkard or swindler—with such a one not even to eat.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

¹³ “Foods for the belly and the belly for foods,” but God will destroy both this and these. Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

¹⁸ Flee sexual immorality. Every sin, whatever if a man might do, is outside the body, but the one sinning sexually sins against the own body.

² But because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have the own husband.

¹ Now concerning the things sacrificed to idols, we know indeed we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

⁴ Therefore concerning the eating of the things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God except one. ⁵ Truly even if indeed there are those called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, as there are many gods and many lords, ⁶ yet to us there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we through Him. ⁷ But this knowledge is not in all. And some, by habit of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak, it is defiled. ⁸ But food will not commend us to God; neither if we should eat do we come short, nor if we should not eat, do we have an advantage. ⁹ But be careful, lest somehow this right of yours becomes an occasion of stumbling to those being weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone sees you, having knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up so as to eat the things sacrificed to idols? ¹¹ For the one being weak is destroyed through your knowledge—the brother for whom Christ died. ¹² And thus sinning against the brothers and wounding their being weak conscience, you sin against Christ. ¹³ Therefore, if food snares my brother, never shall not I eat meat to the age, so that I might not snare my brother.

⁷ Neither are you to be idolaters, as some of them, as it has been written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.” ⁸ Neither should we commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed sexual immorality, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day.

¹⁴ Therefore my beloved, flee from idolatry. ¹⁵ I speak as to sensible ones; judge for yourselves what I say. ¹⁶ Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a participation in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? ¹⁷ Because there is one loaf, we the many are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf. ¹⁸ Consider Israel according to flesh: Are not those eating the sacrifices fellow partakers in the altar? ¹⁹ Then what do I mean? That what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? ²⁰ Rather, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And I do not want you to be fellow partakers with demons. ²¹ You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons. ²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? ²³ “All things are lawful,” but not all things are profitable; “All things are lawful,” but not all edify. ²⁴ Let no one seek the good of himself, but that of the other. ²⁵ Eat everything being sold in the meat market, inquiring nothing on account of conscience, ²⁶ for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.” ²⁷ If anyone unbelieving invites you, and you wish to go, eat everything being set before you, inquiring nothing on account of conscience. ²⁸ But if anyone should say to you, “This is offered to an idol,” do not eat, on account of him having shown it, and conscience—

²¹ lest of my having come again, my God should humble me as to you, and I should mourn over many of those having before sinned and not having repented of the impurity, and sexual immorality, and sensuality that they have practiced.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

³ But let sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness not even be named among you, as also is proper to saints,

⁵ Therefore put to death the members which are upon the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry,

³ For this is the will of God, your sanctification: You are to abstain from sexual immorality; ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving, ⁵ for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

¹⁶ lest there be any fornicator or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright.

⁴ Let marriage be honorable in all, and the marriage bed undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

³ For the time past is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and abominable idolatries.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have some there holding the teaching of Balaam, who would teach Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

²⁰ But I have against you that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, the one calling herself a prophetess and teaching and misleading My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

²⁰ And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues did not even repent of the works of their hands so that they will not worship the demons, and the golden and silver and bronze and stone and wooden idols, which are able neither to see, nor to hear, nor to walk.

² and having in his hand a little scroll being open. And he placed his right foot upon the sea, and the left upon the earth.

⁸ And the voice that I heard out of heaven was speaking with me again and saying, “Go, take the little scroll having been opened in the hand of the angel standing upon the sea and upon the land.”
