² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be competent to teach others also.

⁵² And He said to them, “Because of this, every scribe having been discipled into the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a master of a house, who puts forth out of his treasure new and old.”

²⁵ Behold, I have foretold you.

⁴² And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful, wise manager, whom the master will set over the care of his servants, to give them the measure of food in season?

¹⁰ The one faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and the one unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. ¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true? ¹² And unless you have been faithful in that which is of another, who will give to you that which is yours?

² In this case, moreover, it is required in the stewards, that one shall be found faithful.

⁷ just as you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on behalf of us,

¹² I have thankfulness for the One having strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, that He esteemed me faithful, having appointed me to service,

¹⁸ I commit to you this charge, Timothy, my child, according to the prophecies going before as to you, that by them you might wage the good warfare,

² Therefore it behooves the overseer to be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, ³ not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, peaceable, not loving money, ⁴ managing the own house well, having children in submission, with all dignity— ⁵ but if one does not know how to manage the own household, how will he care for the church of God?— ⁶ not a novice, lest having been puffed up, he might fall into the judgment of the devil. ⁷ And it behooves him also to have a good testimony from those outside, so that he might not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. ⁸ Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not being given to much wine, not greedy of dishonest gain, ⁹ holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.

⁶ Laying before the brothers these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good teaching that you have closely followed.

¹⁴ Do not be negligent of the gift in you, which was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood.

²² Lay hands on no one hastily, nor share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and also did confess the good confession before many witnesses.

¹³ Retain the pattern of sound words, which you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁴ Keep the good deposit entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit, the One dwelling in us.

²⁴ And it behooves the bond-servant of the Lord not to quarrel, but to be gentle toward all, able to teach, forbearing, ²⁵ in gentleness disciplining those opposing, lest ever God may give them repentance unto a knowledge of the truth,

¹⁰ But you have closely followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

¹⁴ But you, abide in the things you have learned and have been assured of, having known from whom you learned them,

⁵ On account of this I left you in Crete, that you might set in order the things lacking and might appoint elders in every town, as I directed you, ⁶ if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having believing children, not under accusation of debauchery, or insubordinate. ⁷ For it behooves the overseer to be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not quick tempered, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain, ⁸ but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined; ⁹ holding to the faithful word according to the teaching, that he may be able both to encourage with sound teaching and to convict those contradicting it.

¹⁷ Therefore it behooved Him to be made like the brothers in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

² being faithful to the One having appointed Him, as Moses also in all His house. ³ For He has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by so much as the one having built it has greater honor than the house itself.

¹⁰ Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you might be tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give to you the crown of life. ¹¹ The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one overcoming shall not be injured by the second death. ¹² And to the messenger of the church in Pergamum write: These things says the One having the sharp two-edged sword. ¹³ I know where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is; and you hold fast to My name, and you have not denied My faith, even in the days of Antipas My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
