¹⁸ Ἄρα (So) οὖν (then), ὡς (just as) δι’ (by) ἑνὸς (one) παραπτώματος (trespass), εἰς (to) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men) εἰς (it is unto) κατάκριμα (condemnation), οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) δι’ (by) ἑνὸς (one) δικαιώματος (act of righteousness), εἰς (to) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men) εἰς (it is unto) δικαίωσιν (justification) ζωῆς (of life).

⁷ οὗτος (He) ἦλθεν (came) εἰς (as) μαρτυρίαν (a witness), ἵνα (that) μαρτυρήσῃ (he might testify) περὶ (concerning) τοῦ (the) φωτός (Light), ἵνα (that) πάντες (all) πιστεύσωσιν (might believe) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (him).

²⁶ καὶ (And) ἦλθον (they came) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Ἰωάννην (John) καὶ (and) εἶπαν (said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ῥαββί (Rabbi), ὃς (He who) ἦν (was) μετὰ (with) σοῦ (you) πέραν (beyond) τοῦ (the) Ἰορδάνου (Jordan), ᾧ (to whom) σὺ (you) μεμαρτύρηκας (have borne witness), ἴδε (behold) οὗτος (He) βαπτίζει (baptizes), καὶ (and) πάντες (all) ἔρχονται (are coming) πρὸς (to) αὐτόν (Him).”

³² κἀγὼ (And I), ἐὰν (if) ὑψωθῶ (I am lifted up) ἐκ (from) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), πάντας (all) ἑλκύσω (will draw) πρὸς (to) ἐμαυτόν (Myself).”

³⁹ καὶ (And) ἀπὸ (from) πάντων (all things) ὧν (from which) οὐκ (not) ἠδυνήθητε (you were able) ἐν (in) νόμῳ (the law) Μωϋσέως (of Moses) δικαιωθῆναι (to be justified), ἐν (in) τούτῳ (Him) πᾶς (everyone) ὁ (-) πιστεύων (believing) δικαιοῦται (is justified).

¹⁹ Οἴδαμεν (We know) δὲ (now) ὅτι (that) ὅσα (whatever) ὁ (the) νόμος (law) λέγει (says), τοῖς (to those) ἐν (under) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) λαλεῖ (it speaks), ἵνα (so that) πᾶν (every) στόμα (mouth) φραγῇ (may be stopped), καὶ (and) ὑπόδικος (under judgment) γένηται (may be) πᾶς (all) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God). ²⁰ διότι (Therefore) ἐξ (by) ἔργων (works) νόμου (of the Law) οὐ (not) δικαιωθήσεται (will be justified) πᾶσα (any) σὰρξ (flesh) ἐνώπιον (before) αὐτοῦ (Him); διὰ (through) γὰρ (for) νόμου (the Law) ἐπίγνωσις (is knowledge) ἁμαρτίας (of sin). ²¹ Νυνὶ (Now) δὲ (however), χωρὶς (apart from) νόμου (law), δικαιοσύνη (the righteousness) Θεοῦ (of God) πεφανέρωται (has been revealed), μαρτυρουμένη (being borne witness to) ὑπὸ (by) τοῦ (the) νόμου (Law) καὶ (and) τῶν (the) προφητῶν (Prophets), ²² δικαιοσύνη (the righteousness) δὲ (now) Θεοῦ (of God) διὰ (through) πίστεως (faith) Ἰησοῦ (from Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) εἰς (toward) πάντας (all) τοὺς (those) πιστεύοντας (believing). οὐ (Not) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (there is) διαστολή (distinction).

²⁵ ὃς (who) παρεδόθη (was delivered over) διὰ (for) τὰ (the) παραπτώματα (trespasses) ἡμῶν (of us), καὶ (and) ἠγέρθη (was raised) διὰ (for) τὴν (the) δικαίωσιν (justification) ἡμῶν (of us).

¹² Διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this), ὥσπερ (just as) δι’ (through) ἑνὸς (one) ἀνθρώπου (man) ἡ (-) ἁμαρτία (sin) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) εἰσῆλθεν (entered), καὶ (and) διὰ (through) τῆς (-) ἁμαρτίας (sin), ὁ (-) θάνατος (death); καὶ (also) οὕτως (thus) εἰς (to) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men) ὁ (-) θάνατος (death) διῆλθεν (passed), ἐφ’ (for) ᾧ (that) πάντες (all) ἥμαρτον (sinned).

¹⁵ Ἀλλ’ (But) οὐχ (is not) ὡς (like) τὸ (the) παράπτωμα (trespass) οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) τὸ (the) χάρισμα (gift). εἰ (If) γὰρ (for) τῷ (by the) τοῦ (of the) ἑνὸς (one) παραπτώματι (trespass), οἱ (the) πολλοὶ (many) ἀπέθανον (died), πολλῷ (how much) μᾶλλον (more) ἡ (the) χάρις (grace) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δωρεὰ (gift) ἐν (in) χάριτι (grace) τῇ (which is) τοῦ (of the) ἑνὸς (one) ἀνθρώπου (man), Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) πολλοὺς (many) ἐπερίσσευσεν (did abound)!

¹⁹ ὥσπερ (For as) γὰρ (for) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) παρακοῆς (disobedience) τοῦ (of the) ἑνὸς (one) ἀνθρώπου (man), ἁμαρτωλοὶ (sinners) κατεστάθησαν (were made) οἱ (the) πολλοί (many), οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ὑπακοῆς (obedience) τοῦ (of the) ἑνὸς (One), δίκαιοι (righteous) κατασταθήσονται (will be made) οἱ (the) πολλοί (many).

²² ὥσπερ (For as) γὰρ (indeed) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) Ἀδὰμ (Adam) πάντες (all) ἀποθνήσκουσιν (die), οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) Χριστῷ (Christ), πάντες (all) ζωοποιηθήσονται (will be made alive).

⁴ ὃς (who) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men) θέλει (desires) σωθῆναι (to be saved), καὶ (and) εἰς (to) ἐπίγνωσιν (the knowledge) ἀληθείας (of the truth) ἐλθεῖν (to come). ⁵ Εἷς (One) γὰρ (for) Θεός (God there is), εἷς (one) καὶ (then) μεσίτης (mediator) Θεοῦ (between God) καὶ (and) ἀνθρώπων (men), ἄνθρωπος (the man) Χριστὸς (Christ) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), ⁶ ὁ (the One) δοὺς (having given) ἑαυτὸν (Himself) ἀντίλυτρον (as a ransom) ὑπὲρ (for) πάντων (all), τὸ (the) μαρτύριον (testimony) καιροῖς (in proper times) ἰδίοις (their own),

⁹ τὸν (Who) δὲ (however) βραχύ (a little) τι (one) παρ’ (than) ἀγγέλους (the angels), ἠλαττωμένον (having been made lower), βλέπομεν (we see), Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), διὰ (because of) τὸ (the) πάθημα (suffering) τοῦ (-) θανάτου (of death), δόξῃ (with glory) καὶ (and) τιμῇ (with honor) ἐστεφανωμένον (having been crowned), ὅπως (so that) χάριτι (by the grace) Θεοῦ (of God) ὑπὲρ (for) παντὸς (everyone) γεύσηται (He might taste) θανάτου (death).

²⁰ Καὶ (And) ὑμεῖς (you) χρῖσμα (the anointing) ἔχετε (have) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) Ἁγίου (Holy One), καὶ (and) οἴδατε (know you) πάντες (all).
