³¹ Τότε (Then) λέγει (says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Πάντες (All) ὑμεῖς (you) σκανδαλισθήσεσθε (will fall away) ἐν (because of) ἐμοὶ (Me) ἐν (during) τῇ (the) νυκτὶ (night) ταύτῃ (this). γέγραπται (It has been written) γάρ (for): ‘Πατάξω (I will strike) τὸν (the) ποιμένα (shepherd), Καὶ (and) διασκορπισθήσονται (will be scattered) τὰ (the) πρόβατα (sheep) τῆς (of the) ποίμνης (flock).’

⁶ καὶ (And) μακάριός (blessed) ἐστιν (is) ὃς (he who) ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) σκανδαλισθῇ (shall fall away) ἐν (in) ἐμοί (Me).”

⁹ Τότε (Then) παραδώσουσιν (will they deliver) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (to) θλῖψιν (tribulation), καὶ (and) ἀποκτενοῦσιν (will kill) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) ἔσεσθε (you will be) μισούμενοι (hated) ὑπὸ (by) πάντων (all) τῶν (the) ἐθνῶν (nations) διὰ (on account of) τὸ (the) ὄνομά (name) μου (of Me). ¹⁰ καὶ (And) τότε (then) σκανδαλισθήσονται (will fall away) πολλοὶ (many), καὶ (and) ἀλλήλους (one another) παραδώσουσιν (they will betray), καὶ (and) μισήσουσιν (will hate) ἀλλήλους (one another);

⁵⁶ Τοῦτο (This) δὲ (then) ὅλον (all) γέγονεν (is come to pass), ἵνα (that) πληρωθῶσιν (might be fulfilled) αἱ (the) γραφαὶ (Scriptures) τῶν (of the) προφητῶν (prophets).” Τότε (Then) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) πάντες (all), ἀφέντες (having forsaken) αὐτὸν (Him), ἔφυγον (fled).

²⁷ Καὶ (And) λέγει (says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ὅτι (-), “Πάντες (All) σκανδαλισθήσεσθε (you will fall away), ὅτι (for) γέγραπται (it has been written): ‘Πατάξω (I will strike) τὸν (the) ποιμένα (shepherd), Καὶ (and) τὰ (the) πρόβατα (sheep) διασκορπισθήσονται (will be scattered).’ ²⁸ Ἀλλὰ (But) μετὰ (after) τὸ (-) ἐγερθῆναί (having arisen), με (I) προάξω (will go before) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee).”

³¹ Σίμων (Simon), Σίμων (Simon), ἰδοὺ (Behold), ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan) ἐξῃτήσατο (demanded to have) ὑμᾶς (all of you) τοῦ (-) σινιάσαι (to sift) ὡς (like) τὸν (-) σῖτον (wheat); ³² ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however) ἐδεήθην (begged) περὶ (for) σοῦ (you), ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) ἐκλίπῃ (may fail) ἡ (the) πίστις (faith) σου (of you); καὶ (and) σύ (you), ποτε (when) ἐπιστρέψας (you have turned back), στήρισον (strengthen) τοὺς (the) ἀδελφούς (brothers) σου (of you).”

³² ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἔρχεται (is coming) ὥρα (an hour), καὶ (and) ἐλήλυθεν (has come), ἵνα (when) σκορπισθῆτε (you will be scattered), ἕκαστος (each) εἰς (to) τὰ (the) ἴδια (own), κἀμὲ (and I) μόνον (alone) ἀφῆτε (you shall leave); καὶ (yet) οὐκ (not) εἰμὶ (I am) μόνος (alone), ὅτι (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (Me) ἐστιν (is).
