⁴⁶ μακάριος (Blessed is) ὁ (the) δοῦλος (servant) ἐκεῖνος (that), ὃν (whom) ἐλθὼν (having come), ὁ (the) κύριος (master) αὐτοῦ (of him) εὑρήσει (will find) οὕτως (thus) ποιοῦντα (doing).

³⁴ Τότε (Then) ἐρεῖ (will say) ὁ (the) Βασιλεὺς (King) τοῖς (to those) ἐκ (on) δεξιῶν (the right hand) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ‘Δεῦτε (Come), οἱ (those) εὐλογημένοι (being blessed) τοῦ (of the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of me), κληρονομήσατε (inherit) τὴν (the) ἡτοιμασμένην (having been prepared) ὑμῖν (for you) βασιλείαν (kingdom) ἀπὸ (from the) καταβολῆς (foundation) κόσμου (of the world).

³⁷ μακάριοι (Blessed are) οἱ (the) δοῦλοι (servants) ἐκεῖνοι (those), οὓς (whom) ἐλθὼν (having come), ὁ (the) κύριος (master) εὑρήσει (will find) γρηγοροῦντας (watching). ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) περιζώσεται (he will gird himself) καὶ (and) ἀνακλινεῖ (will make recline) αὐτοὺς (them), καὶ (and) παρελθὼν (having come up), διακονήσει (will serve) αὐτοῖς (them).

²¹ Ἐμοὶ (To me) γὰρ (for) τὸ (-) ζῆν (to live) Χριστὸς (is Christ), καὶ (and) τὸ (-) ἀποθανεῖν (to die) κέρδος (is gain). ²² εἰ (If I am) δὲ (however) τὸ (-) ζῆν (to live) ἐν (in) σαρκί (flesh), τοῦτό (this) μοι (for me) καρπὸς (is the fruit) ἔργου (of labor). καὶ (And) τί (what) αἱρήσομαι (shall I choose)? οὐ (Not) γνωρίζω (I know)! ²³ συνέχομαι (I am pressed) δὲ (however) ἐκ (between) τῶν (the) δύο (two), τὴν (the) ἐπιθυμίαν (desire) ἔχων (having) εἰς (for myself) τὸ (-) ἀναλῦσαι (to depart) καὶ (and) σὺν (with) Χριστῷ (Christ) εἶναι (to be), πολλῷ (very much) γὰρ (for) μᾶλλον (more) κρεῖσσον (better);

⁶ Ἐγὼ (I) γὰρ (for) ἤδη (already) σπένδομαι (am being poured out), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) καιρὸς (time) τῆς (of the) ἀναλύσεώς (departure) μου (of me) ἐφέστηκεν (is come). ⁷ τὸν (The) καλὸν (good) ἀγῶνα (fight) ἠγώνισμαι (I have fought), τὸν (the) δρόμον (race) τετέλεκα (I have finished), τὴν (the) πίστιν (faith) τετήρηκα (I have kept). ⁸ λοιπὸν (From now on) ἀπόκειταί (is laid up) μοι (for me) ὁ (the) τῆς (-) δικαιοσύνης (of righteousness) στέφανος (crown), ὃν (which) ἀποδώσει (will award) μοι (to me) ὁ (the) κύριος (Lord) ἐν (in) ἐκείνῃ (that) τῇ (-) ἡμέρᾳ (day), ὁ (the) δίκαιος (righteous) κριτής (judge); οὐ (not) μόνον (only) δὲ (however) ἐμοὶ (to me), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) πᾶσι (to all) τοῖς (those) ἠγαπηκόσι (loving) τὴν (the) ἐπιφάνειαν (appearing) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

¹³ δίκαιον (Right) δὲ (now) ἡγοῦμαι (I esteem it), ἐφ’ (as) ὅσον (long as) εἰμὶ (I am) ἐν (in) τούτῳ (this) τῷ (-) σκηνώματι (tabernacle), διεγείρειν (to stir up) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐν (by) ὑπομνήσει (putting you in remembrance), ¹⁴ εἰδὼς (knowing) ὅτι (that) ταχινή (impending) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) ἀπόθεσις (putting off) τοῦ (of the) σκηνώματός (tabernacle) μου (of me), καθὼς (as) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) Χριστὸς (Christ) ἐδήλωσέν (has made clear) μοι (to me). ¹⁵ σπουδάσω (I will be diligent) δὲ (now) καὶ (also) ἑκάστοτε (at every time), ἔχειν (to have) ὑμᾶς (for you) μετὰ (after) τὴν (-) ἐμὴν (my) ἔξοδον (departure), τὴν (-) τούτων (these things) μνήμην (a lasting remembrance) ποιεῖσθαι (to make).

¹⁹ Οἶδά (I know) σου (your) τὰ (-) ἔργα (works), καὶ (and) τὴν (-) ἀγάπην (love), καὶ (and) τὴν (-) πίστιν (faith), καὶ (and) τὴν (-) διακονίαν (service), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) ὑπομονήν (perseverance) σου (of you); καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) σου (of you), τὰ (the) ἔσχατα (latter) πλείονα (are greater) τῶν (than the) πρώτων (first).
