¹¹ Ἡ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (she said), “Οὐδείς (No one), κύριε (Sir).” Εἶπεν* (Said) δὲ (then) 〈αὐτῇ〉 (to her) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Οὐδὲ (Neither) ἐγώ (I) σε (you) κατακρίνω (do condemn); πορεύου (go), καὶ (and) [ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) νῦν] (now on) μηκέτι (no more) ἁμάρτανε (sin).”

²⁸ Τί (What) δὲ (however) ὑμῖν (you) δοκεῖ (think)? ἄνθρωπος (A man) εἶχεν (had) τέκνα (sons) δύο (two), [καὶ] (and) προσελθὼν (having come) τῷ (to the) πρώτῳ (first) εἶπεν (he said), ‘Τέκνον (Son), ὕπαγε (go) σήμερον (today), ἐργάζου (work) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἀμπελῶνι (vineyard).’ ²⁹ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) εἶπεν (he said), ‘‹Οὐ (Not) θέλω (will I).’ ὕστερον (Afterward) δὲ (however), μεταμεληθεὶς› (having repented), ἀπῆλθεν (he went). ³⁰ Προσελθὼν (Having come) δὲ (then) τῷ (to the) δευτέρῳ (second), εἶπεν (he said) ὡσαύτως (likewise). Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) εἶπεν (he said), ‘Ἐγώ* (I will) κύριε* (sir),’ καὶ* (and) οὐκ* (not) ἀπῆλθεν (did he go). ³¹ Τίς (Which) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) δύο (two) ἐποίησεν (did) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the) πατρός (father)?” Λέγουσιν (They say), “Ὁ (The) πρῶτος* (first).” Λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) οἱ (the) τελῶναι (tax collectors) καὶ (and) αἱ (the) πόρναι (prostitutes) προάγουσιν (go before) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

³² οὐκ (Not) ἐλήλυθα (I have come) καλέσαι (to call) δικαίους (righteous ones), ἀλλὰ (but) ἁμαρτωλοὺς (sinners), εἰς (to) μετάνοιαν (repentance).”

⁵⁶ καὶ (And) ἐπορεύθησαν (they went) εἰς (to) ἑτέραν (another) κώμην (village).

¹³ Εἶπεν (Said) δέ (then) τις (one) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ὄχλου (crowd) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Διδάσκαλε (Teacher), εἰπὲ (say) τῷ (to the) ἀδελφῷ (brother) μου (of me) μερίσασθαι (to divide) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me) τὴν (the) κληρονομίαν (inheritance).” ¹⁴ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ἄνθρωπε (Man), τίς (who) με (Me) κατέστησεν (appointed) κριτὴν (a judge) ἢ (or) μεριστὴν (partitioner) ἐφ’ (over) ὑμᾶς (you)?”

³ οὐχί (No), λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you); ἀλλ’ (but) ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) μετανοῆτε (you repent), πάντες (all) ὁμοίως (likewise) ἀπολεῖσθε (you will perish).

⁵ οὐχί (No), λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you); ἀλλ’ (but) ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) μετανοῆτε* (you repent), πάντες (all) ὡσαύτως (likewise) ἀπολεῖσθε (you will perish).”

⁷ λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) οὕτως (in the same way) χαρὰ (joy) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven) ἔσται (there will be) ἐπὶ (over) ἑνὶ (one) ἁμαρτωλῷ (sinner) μετανοοῦντι (repenting), ἢ (rather than) ἐπὶ (over) ἐνενήκοντα (ninety) ἐννέα (nine) δικαίοις (righteous ones), οἵτινες (who) οὐ (no) χρείαν (need) ἔχουσιν (have) μετανοίας (of repentance).

¹⁰ οὕτως (Thus) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), γίνεται (there is) χαρὰ (joy) ἐνώπιον (before) τῶν (the) ἀγγέλων (angels) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐπὶ (over) ἑνὶ (one) ἁμαρτωλῷ (sinner) μετανοοῦντι (repenting).”

³² εὐφρανθῆναι (To make merry) δὲ (however) καὶ (and) χαρῆναι (to rejoice) ἔδει (it was fitting), ὅτι (because) ὁ (the) ἀδελφός (brother) σου (of you) οὗτος (this), νεκρὸς (dead) ἦν (was), καὶ (and) ἔζησεν (is alive again); καὶ (and) ἀπολωλὼς (he was lost), καὶ (and) εὑρέθη (is found).’”

¹⁷ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ἀπέστειλεν (sent) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) τὸν (-) Υἱὸν (His Son) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) ἵνα (that) κρίνῃ (He might judge) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (that) σωθῇ (might be saved) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him).

¹⁴ Μετὰ (After) ταῦτα (these things) εὑρίσκει (finds) αὐτὸν (him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἱερῷ (temple) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ἴδε (Behold), ὑγιὴς (well) γέγονας (you have become); μηκέτι (no more) ἁμάρτανε (sin), ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) χεῖρόν (worse) σοί (to you) τι (something) γένηται (happens).”

¹⁵ Ὑμεῖς (You) κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) σάρκα (flesh) κρίνετε (judge); ἐγὼ (I) οὐ (not) κρίνω (am judging) οὐδένα (no one).

³⁶ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἡ (The) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμὴ (My) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this); εἰ (if) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this) ἦν (were) ἡ (-) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμή (My), οἱ (-) ὑπηρέται (attendants) ἄν (-) «οἱ (-) ἐμοὶ (My) ἠγωνίζοντο» (would fight) ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) παραδοθῶ (I might be betrayed) τοῖς (to the) Ἰουδαίοις (Jews). νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) ἡ (-) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμὴ (My) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἐντεῦθεν (from here).”

⁴ ἢ (Or) τοῦ (the) πλούτου (riches) τῆς (of the) χρηστότητος (kindness) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) τῆς (the) ἀνοχῆς (forbearance), καὶ (and) τῆς (the) μακροθυμίας (patience) καταφρονεῖς (despise you), ἀγνοῶν (not knowing) ὅτι (that) τὸ (the) χρηστὸν (kindness) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰς (to) μετάνοιάν (repentance) σε (you) ἄγει (leads)?

²⁰ Νόμος (The law) δὲ (now) παρεισῆλθεν (entered), ἵνα (so that) πλεονάσῃ (might abound) τὸ (the) παράπτωμα (trespass); οὗ (where) δὲ (however) ἐπλεόνασεν (abounded) ἡ (-) ἁμαρτία (sin), ὑπερεπερίσσευσεν (overabounded) ἡ (-) χάρις (grace), ²¹ ἵνα (so that) ὥσπερ (just as) ἐβασίλευσεν (reigned) ἡ (the) ἁμαρτία (sin) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) θανάτῳ (death), οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) ἡ (-) χάρις (grace) βασιλεύσῃ (might reign) διὰ (through) δικαιοσύνης (righteousness), εἰς (unto) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal), διὰ (through) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us).

³ οἱ (The) γὰρ (for) ἄρχοντες (rulers) οὐκ (not) εἰσὶν (are) φόβος (a terror) τῷ (-) ἀγαθῷ (to good) ἔργῳ (works), ἀλλὰ (but) τῷ (-) κακῷ (to evil). θέλεις (Do you desire) δὲ (now) μὴ (not) φοβεῖσθαι (to fear) τὴν (the) ἐξουσίαν (authority)? τὸ (The) ἀγαθὸν (good) ποίει (do), καὶ (and) ἕξεις (you will have) ἔπαινον (praise) ἐξ (from) αὐτῆς (him). ⁴ Θεοῦ (Of God) γὰρ (for) διάκονός (servant) ἐστιν (he is) σοὶ (to you) εἰς (for) τὸ (-) ἀγαθόν (good). ἐὰν (If) δὲ (however) τὸ (-) κακὸν (evil) ποιῇς (you do), φοβοῦ (be afraid), οὐ (not) γὰρ (for) εἰκῇ (in vain) τὴν (the) μάχαιραν (sword) φορεῖ (he bears); Θεοῦ (of God) γὰρ (for) διάκονός (a servant) ἐστιν (He is), ἔκδικος (an avenger) εἰς (for) ὀργὴν (wrath) τῷ (to the one) τὸ (-) κακὸν (evil) πράσσοντι (doing).

¹² Τί (What) γάρ (for) μοι (is it to me) τοὺς (those) ἔξω (outside) κρίνειν (to judge)? οὐχὶ (Not) τοὺς (those) ἔσω (within) ὑμεῖς (you) κρίνετε (do judge)?

¹⁵ Πιστὸς (Trustworthy is) ὁ (the) λόγος (saying) καὶ (and) πάσης (of full) ἀποδοχῆς (acceptance) ἄξιος (worthy), ὅτι (that) Χριστὸς (Christ) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἦλθεν (came) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) ἁμαρτωλοὺς (sinners) σῶσαι (to save), ὧν (of whom) πρῶτός (the foremost) εἰμι (am) ἐγώ (I). ¹⁶ ἀλλὰ (But) διὰ (because of) τοῦτο (this), ἠλεήθην (I was shown mercy), ἵνα (that) ἐν (in) ἐμοὶ (me), πρώτῳ (the foremost), ἐνδείξηται (might display) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) Χριστὸς (Christ) τὴν (-) ἅπασαν (perfect) μακροθυμίαν (patience), πρὸς (as) ὑποτύπωσιν (a pattern) τῶν (for those) μελλόντων (being about) πιστεύειν (to believe) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτῷ (Him), εἰς (to) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal).

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) τὴν (the) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) μακροθυμίαν (patience) σωτηρίαν (as salvation) ἡγεῖσθε (esteem), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) ἀγαπητὸς (beloved) ἡμῶν (of us) ἀδελφὸς (brother) Παῦλος (Paul), κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) δοθεῖσαν (having been given) αὐτῷ (to him) σοφίαν (wisdom), ἔγραψεν (wrote) ὑμῖν (to you),

²¹ καὶ (And) ἔδωκα (I have given) αὐτῇ (her) χρόνον (time) ἵνα (that) μετανοήσῃ (she might repent), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) θέλει (she is willing) μετανοῆσαι (to repent) ἐκ (of) τῆς (the) πορνείας (sexual immorality) αὐτῆς (of her). ²² Ἰδοὺ (Behold), βάλλω (I will cast) αὐτὴν (her) εἰς (into) κλίνην (a sickbed), καὶ (and) τοὺς (those) μοιχεύοντας (committing adultery) μετ’ (with) αὐτῆς (her) εἰς (into) θλῖψιν (tribulation) μεγάλην (great), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) μετανοήσωσιν* (they shall repent) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) ἔργων (deeds) αὐτῆς (of her).
