⁴⁴ τινὲς (Some) δὲ (now) ἤθελον (desired) ἐξ (of) αὐτῶν (them) πιάσαι (to seize) αὐτόν (Him), ἀλλ’ (but) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐπέβαλεν (laid) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands).

³⁰ Ἐζήτουν (They were seeking) οὖν (therefore) αὐτὸν (Him) πιάσαι (to take), καὶ (but) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐπέβαλεν (laid) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτὸν (Him) τὴν (the) χεῖρα (hand), ὅτι (because) οὔπω (not yet) ἐληλύθει (had come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

²⁰ Ταῦτα (These) τὰ (-) ῥήματα (words) ἐλάλησεν (He spoke) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) γαζοφυλακίῳ (treasury), διδάσκων (teaching) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἱερῷ (temple); καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐπίασεν (seized) αὐτόν (Him), ὅτι (for) οὔπω (not yet) ἐληλύθει (had come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

⁵ Ἀπεκρίθησαν (They answered) αὐτῷ (Him), “Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) τὸν (of) Ναζωραῖον (Nazareth).” Λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am He).” Εἱστήκει (Had been standing) δὲ (now) καὶ (also) Ἰούδας (Judas), ὁ (who) παραδιδοὺς (is delivering up) αὐτὸν (Him), μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them). ⁶ ὡς (When) οὖν (therefore) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am He),” ἀπῆλθον* (they drew) εἰς (toward) τὰ (the) ὀπίσω (back) καὶ (and) ἔπεσαν (fell) χαμαί (to the ground).

¹⁰ διότι (because) ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) μετὰ (with) σοῦ (you), καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐπιθήσεταί (will lay a hand on) σοι (you) τοῦ (-) κακῶσαί (to harm) σε (you), διότι (because) λαός (people) ἐστί (there are) μοι (to me) πολὺς (many) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πόλει (city) ταύτῃ (this).”

¹¹ Τῇ (-) δὲ (But) ἐπιούσῃ (the following) νυκτὶ (night), ἐπιστὰς (having stood by) αὐτῷ (him), ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) εἶπεν (said), “Θάρσει (Take courage), ὡς (as) γὰρ (for) διεμαρτύρω (you have fully testified) τὰ (-) περὶ (about) ἐμοῦ (Me) εἰς (at) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), οὕτω (so) σε (you) δεῖ (it behooves) καὶ (also) εἰς (in) Ῥώμην (Rome) μαρτυρῆσαι (to testify).”

²³ παρέστη (Stood by) γάρ (for) μοι (me) ταύτῃ (this) τῇ (-) νυκτὶ (night) τοῦ (-), Θεοῦ (of God), οὗ (whose) εἰμι (am) [ἐγώ] (I) ᾧ (whom) καὶ (and) λατρεύω (I serve), ἄγγελος (an angel), ²⁴ λέγων (saying), ‘Μὴ (Not) φοβοῦ (fear), Παῦλε (Paul); Καίσαρί (Caesar) σε (you) δεῖ (it behooves) παραστῆναι (to stand before). καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), κεχάρισταί (has granted) σοι (to you) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) πάντας (all) τοὺς (those) πλέοντας (sailing) μετὰ (with) σοῦ (you).’ ²⁵ Διὸ (Therefore) εὐθυμεῖτε (take courage), ἄνδρες (men); πιστεύω (I believe) γὰρ (for) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God) ὅτι (that) οὕτως (thus) ἔσται (it will be), καθ’ (according to) ὃν (the) τρόπον (way) λελάληταί (it has been said) μοι (to me).
