³⁹ Λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἔρχεσθε (Come) καὶ (and) ὄψεσθε (you will see).” ἦλθαν (They went) οὖν (therefore) καὶ (and) εἶδαν (saw) ποῦ (where) μένει (He abides); καὶ (and) παρ’ (with) αὐτῷ (Him) ἔμειναν (they stayed) τὴν (the) ἡμέραν (day) ἐκείνην (that). ὥρα (The hour) ἦν (was) ὡς (about) δεκάτη (the tenth).

²⁸ Δεῦτε (Come) πρός (to) με (Me), πάντες (all) οἱ (those) κοπιῶντες (toiling) καὶ (and) πεφορτισμένοι (being burdened), κἀγὼ (and I) ἀναπαύσω (will give rest) ὑμᾶς (to you). ²⁹ ἄρατε (Take) τὸν (the) ζυγόν (yoke) μου (of Me) ἐφ’ (upon) ὑμᾶς (you) καὶ (and) μάθετε (learn) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμοῦ (Me), ὅτι (for) πραΰς (gentle) εἰμι (I am) καὶ (and) ταπεινὸς (humble) τῇ (in the) καρδίᾳ (heart), καὶ (and) εὑρήσετε (you will find) ἀνάπαυσιν (rest) ταῖς (for the) ψυχαῖς (souls) ὑμῶν (of you). ³⁰ ὁ (The) γὰρ (for) ζυγός (yoke) μου (of Me) χρηστὸς (is easy), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) φορτίον (burden) μου (of Me) ἐλαφρόν (light) ἐστιν (is).”

²⁹ καὶ (And) παρεβιάσαντο (they constrained) αὐτὸν (Him), λέγοντες (saying), “Μεῖνον (Abide) μεθ’ (with) ἡμῶν (us), ὅτι (for) πρὸς (toward) ἑσπέραν (evening) ἐστὶν (it is), καὶ (and) κέκλικεν (has declined) ἤδη (now) ἡ (the) ἡμέρα (day).” Καὶ (And) εἰσῆλθεν (He entered in) τοῦ (-) μεῖναι (to abide) σὺν (with) αὐτοῖς (them).

⁴⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to him) Ναθαναήλ (Nathanael), “Ἐκ (Out of) Ναζαρὲτ (Nazareth) δύναταί (is able) τι (any) ἀγαθὸν (good thing) εἶναι (to be)?” Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Φίλιππος (Philip), “Ἔρχου (Come) καὶ (and) ἴδε (see).”

⁴⁰ ὡς (When) οὖν (therefore) ἦλθον (came) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (Him) οἱ (the) Σαμαρῖται (Samaritans), ἠρώτων (they were asking) αὐτὸν (Him) μεῖναι (to abide) παρ’ (with) αὐτοῖς (them), καὶ (and) ἔμεινεν (He stayed) ἐκεῖ (there) δύο (two) ἡμέρας (days).

³⁷ Πᾶν (All) ὃ (that) δίδωσίν (gives) μοι (Me) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father), πρὸς (to) ἐμὲ (Me) ἥξει (will come), καὶ (and) τὸν (the one) ἐρχόμενον (coming) πρός (to) με (Me), οὐ (no) μὴ (not) ἐκβάλω (shall I cast) ἔξω (out).

²² Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to Him) Ἰούδας (Judas), οὐχ (not) ὁ (-) Ἰσκαριώτης (Iscariot), “Κύριε (Lord), καὶ (then) τί (what) γέγονεν (has occurred) ὅτι (that) ἡμῖν (to us) μέλλεις (You are about) ἐμφανίζειν (to manifest) σεαυτὸν (Yourself), καὶ (and) οὐχὶ (not) τῷ (to the) κόσμῳ (world)?” ²³ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) ἀγαπᾷ (loves) με (Me), τὸν (the) λόγον (word) μου (of Me) τηρήσει (he will keep), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father) μου (of Me) ἀγαπήσει (will love) αὐτόν (him), καὶ (and) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him) ἐλευσόμεθα (we will come), καὶ (and) μονὴν (a home) παρ’ (with) αὐτῷ (him) ποιησόμεθα (will make).

³⁰ Ἐνέμεινεν (He stayed) δὲ (then) διετίαν (two years) ὅλην (whole) ἐν (in) ἰδίῳ (his own) μισθώματι (rented house), καὶ (and) ἀπεδέχετο (was welcoming) πάντας (all) τοὺς (-) εἰσπορευομένους (coming) πρὸς (unto) αὐτόν (him), ³¹ κηρύσσων (proclaiming) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) διδάσκων (teaching) τὰ (the things) περὶ (concerning) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) μετὰ (with) πάσης (all) παρρησίας (boldness) ἀκωλύτως (unhinderedly).

²⁰ Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἕστηκα (I stand) ἐπὶ (at) τὴν (the) θύραν (door) καὶ (and) κρούω (knock). ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) ἀκούσῃ (should hear) τῆς (the) φωνῆς (voice) μου (of Me) καὶ (and) ἀνοίξῃ (open) τὴν (the) θύραν (door), ‹καὶ› (then) εἰσελεύσομαι (I will come in) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him), καὶ (and) δειπνήσω (will dine) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (him), καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (he) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (Me).
