²⁸ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ὑμεῖς (you) οἱ (-) ἀκολουθήσαντές (having followed) μοι (Me), ἐν (in) τῇ (the) παλινγενεσίᾳ (regeneration), ὅταν (when) καθίσῃ (shall sit down) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐπὶ (upon) θρόνου (the throne) δόξης (of glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καθήσεσθε (will sit) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς* (you) ἐπὶ (on) δώδεκα (twelve) θρόνους (thrones), κρίνοντες (judging) τὰς (the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλὰς (tribes) τοῦ (-) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel).

³⁰ ἵνα (so that) ἔσθητε (you may eat) καὶ (and) πίνητε (may drink) ἐπὶ (at) τῆς (the) τραπέζης (table) μου (of Me) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) καθήσεσθε (may sit) ἐπὶ (on) θρόνων (thrones), τὰς (the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλὰς (tribes) κρίνοντες (judging) τοῦ (of) Ἰσραήλ (Israel).

³⁵ Εἶπον (Said) οὖν (therefore) οἱ (the) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews) πρὸς (among) ἑαυτούς (themselves), “Ποῦ (Where) οὗτος (He) μέλλει (is about) πορεύεσθαι (to go) ὅτι (that) ἡμεῖς (we) οὐχ (not) εὑρήσομεν (will find) αὐτόν (Him)? μὴ (Not) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) Διασπορὰν (Dispersion) τῶν (among the) Ἑλλήνων (Greeks) μέλλει (is He about) πορεύεσθαι (to go) καὶ (and) διδάσκειν (to teach) τοὺς (the) Ἕλληνας (Greeks)?

²⁶ ἐὰν (If) ἐμοί (Me) τις (anyone) διακονῇ (serves), ἐμοὶ (Me) ἀκολουθείτω (let him follow); καὶ (and) ὅπου (where) εἰμὶ (am) ἐγὼ (I), ἐκεῖ (there) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) διάκονος (servant) ὁ (-) ἐμὸς (of Me) ἔσται (will be). ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) ἐμοὶ (Me) διακονῇ (serves), τιμήσει (will honor) αὐτὸν (him) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father).

¹³ καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) εἰσῆλθον (they had entered) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) ὑπερῷον (upper room), ἀνέβησαν (they went up) οὗ (where) ἦσαν (they were) καταμένοντες (staying), ὅ (-) τε (both) Πέτρος (Peter) καὶ (and) Ἰωάννης (John), καὶ (and) Ἰάκωβος (James) καὶ (and) Ἀνδρέας (Andrew), Φίλιππος (Philip) καὶ (and) Θωμᾶς (Thomas), Βαρθολομαῖος (Bartholomew) καὶ (and) Μαθθαῖος (Matthew), Ἰάκωβος (James son) Ἁλφαίου (of Alphaeus), καὶ (and) Σίμων (Simon) ὁ (the) Ζηλωτὴς (Zealot), καὶ (and) Ἰούδας (Judas son) Ἰακώβου (of James).

⁵ Ἦσαν (Were) δὲ (now) εἰς (in) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) κατοικοῦντες (dwelling) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews), ἄνδρες (men) εὐλαβεῖς (devout) ἀπὸ (from) παντὸς (every) ἔθνους (nation) τῶν (of those) ὑπὸ (under) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven).

¹ Σαῦλος (Saul) δὲ (now) ἦν (was there) συνευδοκῶν (consenting) τῇ (to the) ἀναιρέσει (killing) αὐτοῦ (of him). Ἐγένετο (Arose) δὲ (then) ἐν (on) ἐκείνῃ (that) τῇ (-) ἡμέρᾳ (day) διωγμὸς (a persecution) μέγας (great) ἐπὶ (against) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church) τὴν (which was) ἐν (in) Ἱεροσολύμοις (Jerusalem). πάντες (All) δὲ (then) διεσπάρησαν (were scattered) κατὰ (throughout) τὰς (the) χώρας (regions) τῆς (-) Ἰουδαίας (of Judea) καὶ (and) Σαμαρείας (Samaria), πλὴν (except) τῶν (the) ἀποστόλων (apostles).

¹⁷ κατασείσας (Having made a sign) δὲ (then) αὐτοῖς (to them) τῇ (with the) χειρὶ (hand) σιγᾶν (to be silent), διηγήσατο (he related) αὐτοῖς (to them) πῶς (how) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) αὐτὸν (him) ἐξήγαγεν (had brought) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) φυλακῆς (prison). εἶπέν (He said) τε (then), “Ἀπαγγείλατε (Report) Ἰακώβῳ (to James) καὶ (and) τοῖς (to the) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers) ταῦτα (these things).” καὶ (And) ἐξελθὼν (having gone out), ἐπορεύθη (he went) εἰς (to) ἕτερον (another) τόπον (place).

¹³ Μετὰ (After) δὲ (now) τὸ (-) σιγῆσαι (were silent) αὐτοὺς (they), ἀπεκρίθη (answered) Ἰάκωβος (James), λέγων (saying), “Ἄνδρες (Men), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἀκούσατέ (hear) μου (me).

²¹ Μωϋσῆς (Moses) γὰρ (for) ἐκ (from) γενεῶν (generations) ἀρχαίων (of old), κατὰ (in every) πόλιν (city) τοὺς (ones) κηρύσσοντας (proclaiming) αὐτὸν (him) ἔχει (has), ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) συναγωγαῖς (synagogues) κατὰ (on) πᾶν (every) σάββατον (Sabbath) ἀναγινωσκόμενος (being read).”

²³ γράψαντες (having written) διὰ (by) χειρὸς (the hand) αὐτῶν (of them): “Οἱ (The) ἀπόστολοι (apostles) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders), ἀδελφοὶ (brothers), Τοῖς (To those) κατὰ (in) τὴν (-) Ἀντιόχειαν (Antioch) καὶ (and) Συρίαν (Syria) καὶ (and) Κιλικίαν (Cilicia), ἀδελφοῖς (brothers) τοῖς (-) ἐξ (among) ἐθνῶν (the Gentiles): Χαίρειν (Greetings).

¹⁸ τῇ (On the) δὲ (now) ἐπιούσῃ (following day), εἰσῄει (went in) ὁ (-) Παῦλος (Paul) σὺν (with) ἡμῖν (us) πρὸς (unto) Ἰάκωβον (James), πάντες (all) τε (and) παρεγένοντο (arrived) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders).

⁷ εἰς (to) ἣν (which) τὸ (the) δωδεκάφυλον (twelve tribes) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐν (in) ἐκτενείᾳ (earnestness), νύκτα (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέραν (day), λατρεῦον (serving), ἐλπίζει (hope) καταντῆσαι (to attain); περὶ (concerning) ἧς (which) ἐλπίδος (hope) ἐγκαλοῦμαι (I am accused) ὑπὸ (by) Ἰουδαίων (the Jews), βασιλεῦ (O king).
