²³ Καὶ (And) περιῆγεν (He was going) ἐν (throughout) ὅλῃ (all) τῇ (-) Γαλιλαίᾳ (Galilee), διδάσκων (teaching) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) συναγωγαῖς (synagogues) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) κηρύσσων (proclaiming) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τῆς (of the) βασιλείας (kingdom), καὶ (and) θεραπεύων (healing) πᾶσαν (every) νόσον (disease) καὶ (and) πᾶσαν (every) μαλακίαν (sickness) ἐν (among) τῷ (the) λαῷ (people). ²⁴ καὶ (And) ἀπῆλθεν (went out) ἡ (the) ἀκοὴ (news) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἰς (into) ὅλην (all) τὴν (-) Συρίαν (Syria). καὶ (And) προσήνεγκαν (they brought) αὐτῷ (to Him) πάντας (all) τοὺς (the) κακῶς (sick) ἔχοντας (having) ποικίλαις (various) νόσοις (diseases) καὶ (and) βασάνοις (pains) συνεχομένους (oppressing), [καὶ] (and) δαιμονιζομένους (being possessed by demons), καὶ (and) σεληνιαζομένους (being epileptics), καὶ (and) παραλυτικούς (paralytics); καὶ (and) ἐθεράπευσεν (He healed) αὐτούς (them).

⁵ τυφλοὶ (Blind) ἀναβλέπουσιν (receive sight), καὶ (and) χωλοὶ (lame) περιπατοῦσιν (walk), λεπροὶ (lepers) καθαρίζονται (are cleansed), καὶ (and) κωφοὶ (deaf) ἀκούουσιν (hear), καὶ (and) νεκροὶ (dead) ἐγείρονται (are raised), καὶ (and) πτωχοὶ (poor) εὐαγγελίζονται (are gospelized).

³ ἔδοξε (it seemed good) κἀμοὶ (also to me), παρηκολουθηκότι (having been acquainted) ἄνωθεν (from the first) πᾶσιν (with all things), ἀκριβῶς (carefully) καθεξῆς (with method) σοι (to you) γράψαι (to write), κράτιστε (most excellent) Θεόφιλε (Theophilus),

²⁴ Μετὰ (After) δὲ (then) ταύτας (these) τὰς (-) ἡμέρας (days) συνέλαβεν (conceived) Ἐλισάβετ (Elizabeth) ἡ (the) γυνὴ (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) περιέκρυβεν (hid) ἑαυτὴν (herself) μῆνας (months) πέντε (five), λέγουσα (saying),

²³ Καὶ (And) αὐτὸς (Himself) ἦν (was) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἀρχόμενος (beginning) ὡσεὶ (about) ἐτῶν (years old) τριάκοντα (thirty), Ὢν (being) υἱός (son), ὡς (as) ἐνομίζετο (was supposed), Ἰωσὴφ (of Joseph), τοῦ (-) Ἠλὶ (of Heli),

²¹ Ἐν (At) ἐκείνῃ (that very) τῇ (-) ὥρᾳ (hour), ἐθεράπευσεν (He healed) πολλοὺς (many) ἀπὸ (of) νόσων (diseases), καὶ (and) μαστίγων (afflictions), καὶ (and) πνευμάτων (spirits) πονηρῶν (evil), καὶ (and) τυφλοῖς (to blind) πολλοῖς (many) ἐχαρίσατο (He granted) βλέπειν (to see). ²² καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Πορευθέντες (Having gone), ἀπαγγείλατε (relate) Ἰωάννῃ (to John) ἃ (what) εἴδετε (you have seen) καὶ (and) ἠκούσατε (heard): τυφλοὶ (Blind) ἀναβλέπουσιν (receive sight), χωλοὶ (lame) περιπατοῦσιν (walk), λεπροὶ (lepers) καθαρίζονται (are cleansed), καὶ (and) κωφοὶ (deaf) ἀκούουσιν (hear), νεκροὶ (dead) ἐγείρονται (are raised), πτωχοὶ (poor) εὐαγγελίζονται (are gospelized). ²³ καὶ (And) μακάριός (blessed) ἐστιν (is) ὃς (who) ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) σκανδαλισθῇ (shall be offended) ἐν (in) ἐμοί (Me).”

¹⁹ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ποῖα (What things)?” οἱ (-) Δὲ (And) εἶπαν (they said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Τὰ (The things) περὶ (concerning) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) τοῦ (of) Ναζαρηνοῦ (Nazareth), ὃς (who) ἐγένετο (was) ἀνὴρ (a man), προφήτης (a prophet) δυνατὸς (mighty) ἐν (in) ἔργῳ (deed) καὶ (and) λόγῳ (word) ἐναντίον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) καὶ (and) παντὸς (all) τοῦ (the) λαοῦ (people);

³² ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Πολλὰ (Many) ἔργα (works) «ἔδειξα (I have shown) ὑμῖν» (you) καλὰ (good) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father); διὰ (because of) ποῖον (which) αὐτῶν (of these) ἔργον (work), ἐμὲ (Me) λιθάζετε (do you stone)?” ³³ Ἀπεκρίθησαν (Answered) αὐτῷ (Him) οἱ (the) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews), “Περὶ (For) καλοῦ (a good) ἔργου (work) οὐ (not) λιθάζομέν (we do stone) σε (You), ἀλλὰ (but) περὶ (for) βλασφημίας (blasphemy), καὶ (and) ὅτι (because) σὺ (You), ἄνθρωπος (a man) ὢν (being), ποιεῖς (make) σεαυτὸν (yourself) Θεόν (God).” ³⁴ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Οὐκ (Not) ἔστιν (is it) γεγραμμένον (written) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) ὑμῶν (of you) ὅτι (-): ‘Ἐγὼ (I) εἶπα (said) Θεοί (gods) ἐστε (you are)’? ³⁵ εἰ (If) ἐκείνους (them) εἶπεν (he called) θεοὺς (gods), πρὸς (to) οὓς (whom) ὁ (the) λόγος (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐγένετο (came), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) δύναται (is able) λυθῆναι (to be broken) ἡ (the) γραφή (Scripture), ³⁶ ὃν (of Him whom) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἡγίασεν (sanctified) καὶ (and) ἀπέστειλεν (sent) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), ὑμεῖς (you) λέγετε (do say) ὅτι (-), ‘Βλασφημεῖς (You blaspheme),’ ὅτι (because) εἶπον (I said), ‘Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰμι (I am)’? ³⁷ Εἰ (If) οὐ (not) ποιῶ (I do) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) τοῦ (of the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), μὴ (not) πιστεύετέ (believe) μοι (Me). ³⁸ εἰ (If) δὲ (however) ποιῶ (I do), κἂν (even if) ἐμοὶ (Me) μὴ (not) πιστεύητε (you believe), τοῖς (the) ἔργοις (works) πιστεύετε (believe), ἵνα (so that) γνῶτε (you may know) καὶ (and) γινώσκητε (may understand) ὅτι (that) ἐν (in) ἐμοὶ (Me is) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father), κἀγὼ (and I) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) Πατρί (Father).”

¹⁹ Ὁ (-) οὖν (Then) ἀρχιερεὺς (the high priest) ἠρώτησεν (questioned) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) περὶ (concerning) τῶν (the) μαθητῶν (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) καὶ (and) περὶ (concerning) τῆς (the) διδαχῆς (teaching) αὐτοῦ (of Him). ²⁰ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) αὐτῷ (him) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἐγὼ (I) παρρησίᾳ (openly) λελάληκα (have spoken) τῷ (to the) κόσμῳ (world); ἐγὼ (I) πάντοτε (always) ἐδίδαξα (taught) ἐν (in) συναγωγῇ (the synagogue) καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἱερῷ (temple), ὅπου (where) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews) συνέρχονται (come together), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) κρυπτῷ (secret) ἐλάλησα (I spoke) οὐδέν (nothing). ²¹ τί (Why) με (Me) ἐρωτᾷς (do you question)? ἐρώτησον (Question) τοὺς (those) ἀκηκοότας (having heard) τί (what) ἐλάλησα (I spoke) αὐτοῖς (to them); ἴδε (behold), οὗτοι (they) οἴδασιν (know) ἃ (what) εἶπον (said) ἐγώ (I).”

²² Ἄνδρες (Men), Ἰσραηλῖται (Israelites), ἀκούσατε (hear) τοὺς (the) λόγους (words) τούτους (these): Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) τὸν (of) Ναζωραῖον (Nazareth), ἄνδρα (a man) ἀποδεδειγμένον (having been set forth) ἀπὸ (by) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) εἰς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) δυνάμεσι (by miracles) καὶ (and) τέρασι (wonders) καὶ (and) σημείοις (signs), οἷς (which) ἐποίησεν (did) δι’ (by) αὐτοῦ (Him) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) ὑμῶν (of you), καθὼς (as) αὐτοὶ (you yourselves) οἴδατε (know),

²¹ Εἰς (To this) τοῦτο (hereunto) γὰρ (for) ἐκλήθητε (you have been called), ὅτι (because) καὶ (also) Χριστὸς (Christ) ἔπαθεν (suffered) ὑπὲρ (for) ὑμῶν (you), ὑμῖν (you) ὑπολιμπάνων (leaving) ὑπογραμμὸν (an example) ἵνα (that) ἐπακολουθήσητε (you should follow after) τοῖς (the) ἴχνεσιν (steps) αὐτοῦ (of Him): ²² “Ὃς (Who) ἁμαρτίαν (sin) οὐκ (not) ἐποίησεν (committed), οὐδὲ (neither) εὑρέθη (was found) δόλος (trickery) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) στόματι (mouth) αὐτοῦ (of Him).” ²³ ὃς (Who) λοιδορούμενος (being reviled), οὐκ (not) ἀντελοιδόρει (reviled in return); πάσχων (suffering) οὐκ (not) ἠπείλει (threatened); παρεδίδου (He gave Himself over) δὲ (however) τῷ (to Him) κρίνοντι (judging) δικαίως (justly).
