⁶³ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐσιώπα (was silent). Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) ἀρχιερεὺς (high priest) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Ἐξορκίζω (I adjure) σε (you) κατὰ (by) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) τοῦ (the) ζῶντος (living), ἵνα (that) ἡμῖν (us) εἴπῃς (You tell) εἰ (if) σὺ (You) εἶ (are) ὁ (the) Χριστὸς (Christ), ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).”

⁷ καὶ (And) κράξας (having cried) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), λέγει (he said), “Τί (What) ἐμοὶ (to me) καὶ (and) σοί (to You), Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), Υἱὲ (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the) Ὑψίστου (Most High)? ὁρκίζω (I adjure) σε (You) τὸν (-) Θεόν (by God), μή (not) με (me) βασανίσῃς (torment).”

¹³ Ἐπεχείρησαν (Attempted) δέ (now) τινες (some of) καὶ (also) τῶν (of the) περιερχομένων (itinerant) Ἰουδαίων (Jews), ἐξορκιστῶν (exorcists), ὀνομάζειν (to invoke) ἐπὶ (over) τοὺς (those) ἔχοντας (having) τὰ (-) πνεύματα (spirits) τὰ (-) πονηρὰ (evil) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), λέγοντες (saying), “Ὁρκίζω (I adjure) ὑμᾶς (you) τὸν (by) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ὃν (whom) Παῦλος (Paul) κηρύσσει (proclaims).”

¹⁶ Καὶ (And) ὅταν (when) ἀναγνωσθῇ (shall be read) παρ’ (among) ὑμῖν (you) ἡ (the) ἐπιστολή (letter), ποιήσατε (cause) ἵνα (that) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) Λαοδικέων (of the Laodiceans) ἐκκλησίᾳ (church) ἀναγνωσθῇ (it may be read), καὶ (and) τὴν (the one) ἐκ (from) Λαοδικείας (Laodicea) ἵνα (that) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you) ἀναγνῶτε (may read).

¹¹ καθάπερ (just as) οἴδατε (you know) ὡς (how) ἕνα (one) ἕκαστον (each) ὑμῶν (of you), ὡς (as) πατὴρ (a father) τέκνα (children) ἑαυτοῦ (his own),

¹⁴ Εἰ (If) δέ (then) τις (anyone) οὐχ (not) ὑπακούει (obey) τῷ (this) λόγῳ (instruction) ἡμῶν (of us) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἐπιστολῆς (letter), τοῦτον (of this man) σημειοῦσθε (take note) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to mix with) αὐτῷ (him), ἵνα (so that) ἐντραπῇ (he may be ashamed).

³ Καθὼς (Just as) παρεκάλεσά (I urged) σε (you) προσμεῖναι (to remain) ἐν (in) Ἐφέσῳ (Ephesus), πορευόμενος (when I was going) εἰς (to) Μακεδονίαν (Macedonia), ἵνα (so that) παραγγείλῃς (you might warn) τισὶν (certain men) μὴ (not) ἑτεροδιδασκαλεῖν (to teach other doctrines),

¹⁸ Ταύτην (This) τὴν (-) παραγγελίαν (charge) παρατίθεμαί (I commit) σοι (to you), τέκνον (my child) Τιμόθεε (Timothy), κατὰ (according to) τὰς (the) προαγούσας (going before) ἐπὶ (as to) σὲ (you) προφητείας (prophecies), ἵνα (that) στρατεύῃ (you might war) ἐν (by) αὐταῖς (them) τὴν (the) καλὴν (good) στρατείαν (warfare),

⁷ Καὶ (Also) ταῦτα (these things) παράγγελλε (command), ἵνα (so that) ἀνεπίλημπτοι (above reproach) ὦσιν (they should be).

²¹ Διαμαρτύρομαι (I earnestly testify) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) καὶ (and) Χριστοῦ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) καὶ (and) τῶν (the) ἐκλεκτῶν (elect) ἀγγέλων (angels) ἵνα (that) ταῦτα (these things) φυλάξῃς (you should keep), χωρὶς (apart from) προκρίματος (prejudice), μηδὲν (nothing) ποιῶν (doing) κατὰ (out of) πρόσκλισιν (partiality).

¹³ Παραγγέλλω (I charge) ‹σοι› (you) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), τοῦ (the One) ζωογονοῦντος (giving life) τὰ (to) πάντα (all things), καὶ (and) Χριστοῦ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), τοῦ (the One) μαρτυρήσαντος (having testified) ἐπὶ (before) Ποντίου (Pontius) Πιλάτου (Pilate) τὴν (the) καλὴν (good) ὁμολογίαν (confession),

¹⁷ Τοῖς (To the) πλουσίοις (rich) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νῦν (present) αἰῶνι (age), παράγγελλε (instruct them) μὴ (not) ὑψηλοφρονεῖν (to be high-minded), μηδὲ (nor) ἠλπικέναι (to have hope) ἐπὶ (in) πλούτου (of riches) ἀδηλότητι (the uncertainty), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐπὶ (on) Θεῷ (God) τῷ (the One) παρέχοντι (providing) ἡμῖν (us) πάντα (all things) πλουσίως (richly) εἰς (for) ἀπόλαυσιν (enjoyment),

¹ Ὅθεν (Therefore), ἀδελφοὶ (brothers) ἅγιοι (holy), κλήσεως (of the calling) ἐπουρανίου (heavenly) μέτοχοι (partakers), κατανοήσατε (carefully consider) τὸν (the) Ἀπόστολον (apostle) καὶ (and) Ἀρχιερέα (high priest) τῆς (of the) ὁμολογίας (confession) ἡμῶν (of us), Ἰησοῦν (Jesus),
