⁵⁰ ὅστις (Whoever) γὰρ (for) ἂν (-) ποιήσῃ (shall do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me) τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens), αὐτός (he) μου (My) ἀδελφὸς (brother) καὶ (and) ἀδελφὴ (sister) καὶ (and) μήτηρ (mother) ἐστίν (is).”

¹⁹ ἐκ (Out of) γὰρ (for) τῆς (the) καρδίας (heart) ἐξέρχονται (come forth) διαλογισμοὶ (thoughts) πονηροί (evil), φόνοι (murders), μοιχεῖαι (adulteries), πορνεῖαι (sexual immorality), κλοπαί (thefts), ψευδομαρτυρίαι (false testimonies), βλασφημίαι (slanders).

³⁵ ὃς (Whoever) ‹γὰρ› (for) ἂν (-) ποιήσῃ (shall do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), οὗτος (he) ἀδελφός (brother) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) ἀδελφὴ (sister), καὶ (and) μήτηρ (mother) ἐστίν (is).”

³⁴ Λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἐμὸν (My) βρῶμά (food) ἐστιν (is) ἵνα (that) ποιήσω* (I should do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the One) πέμψαντός (having sent) με (Me), καὶ (and) τελειώσω (should finish) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὸ (the) ἔργον (work).

¹⁷ ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) θέλῃ (desires) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ποιεῖν (to do), γνώσεται (he will know) περὶ (concerning) τῆς (the) διδαχῆς (teaching), πότερον (whether) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) ἐστιν (it is), ἢ (or) ἐγὼ (I) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμαυτοῦ (Myself) λαλῶ (speak).

¹⁷ ἁγίασον (Sanctify) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (by) τῇ (the) ἀληθείᾳ (truth); ὁ (the) λόγος (word) ὁ (-) σὸς (of You) ἀλήθειά (truth) ἐστιν (is). ¹⁸ καθὼς (As) ἐμὲ (Me) ἀπέστειλας (You sent) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), κἀγὼ (I also) ἀπέστειλα (sent) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world); ¹⁹ καὶ (and) ὑπὲρ (for) αὐτῶν (them) ἐγὼ (I) ἁγιάζω (sanctify) ἐμαυτόν (Myself), ἵνα (that) ὦσιν (may be) καὶ (also) αὐτοὶ (they) ἡγιασμένοι (sanctified) ἐν (in) ἀληθείᾳ (truth).

²⁰ ἀλλὰ (but) ἐπιστεῖλαι (to write) αὐτοῖς (to them) τοῦ (-) ἀπέχεσθαι (to abstain from) τῶν (the) ἀλισγημάτων (pollutions) τῶν (of the) εἰδώλων (idols), καὶ (and) τῆς (-) πορνείας (sexual immorality), καὶ (and) ‹τοῦ› (that) πνικτοῦ (which is strangled), καὶ (and) τοῦ (from) αἵματος (blood).

²⁹ ἀπέχεσθαι (to abstain) εἰδωλοθύτων (from things sacrificed to idols), καὶ (and) αἵματος (from blood), καὶ (and) πνικτῶν (from what is strangled), καὶ (and) πορνείας (from sexual immorality). ἐξ (From) ὧν (these) διατηροῦντες (keeping) ἑαυτοὺς (yourselves), εὖ (well) πράξετε (you will do). Ἔρρωσθε (Farewell).”

³² Καὶ (And) τὰ (-) νῦν (now) παρατίθεμαι (I commit) ὑμᾶς (you) τῷ (to) θεῷ* (God) καὶ (and) τῷ (to the) λόγῳ (word) τῆς (of the) χάριτος (grace) αὐτοῦ (of Him), τῷ (-) δυναμένῳ (being able) οἰκοδομῆσαι (to build up) καὶ (and) δοῦναι (to give) τὴν (you) κληρονομίαν (an inheritance) ἐν (among) τοῖς (those) ἡγιασμένοις (having been sanctified) πᾶσιν (all).

¹⁸ ἀνοῖξαι (to open) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them), τοῦ (that) ἐπιστρέψαι (they may turn) ἀπὸ (from) σκότους (darkness) εἰς (to) φῶς (light), καὶ (and) τῆς (from the) ἐξουσίας (power) τοῦ (-) Σατανᾶ (of Satan) ἐπὶ (to) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), τοῦ (that) λαβεῖν (may receive) αὐτοὺς (they) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) καὶ (and) κλῆρον (an inheritance) ἐν (among) τοῖς (those) ἡγιασμένοις (having been sanctified) πίστει (by faith) τῇ (that is) εἰς (in) ἐμέ (Me).’

⁹ Ἔγραψα (I wrote) ὑμῖν (to you) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἐπιστολῇ (letter) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to associate with) πόρνοις (the sexually immoral), ¹⁰ οὐ (not) πάντως (altogether) τοῖς (with the) πόρνοις (sexually immoral) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (of this), ἢ (or) τοῖς (with the) πλεονέκταις (covetous) καὶ (and) ἅρπαξιν (swindlers), ἢ (or) εἰδωλολάτραις (idolaters) — ἐπεὶ (since) ὠφείλετε (you would need) ἄρα (then) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) ἐξελθεῖν (to depart). ¹¹ νῦν (Now) δὲ (however), ἔγραψα (I wrote) ὑμῖν (to you) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to associate with him) ἐάν (if) τις (anyone) ἀδελφὸς (a brother) ὀνομαζόμενος (being designated), ᾖ (he is) πόρνος (sexually immoral) ἢ (or) πλεονέκτης (a coveter), ἢ (or) εἰδωλολάτρης (an idolater) ἢ (or) λοίδορος (verbal abuser), ἢ (or) μέθυσος (a drunkard), ἢ (or) ἅρπαξ (swindler) — τῷ (with) τοιούτῳ (such a one) μηδὲ (not even) συνεσθίειν (to eat).

⁹ Ἢ (Or) οὐκ (not) οἴδατε (know you) ὅτι (that) ἄδικοι (the unrighteous ones) Θεοῦ (of God) βασιλείαν (the kingdom) οὐ (not) κληρονομήσουσιν (will inherit)? μὴ (Not) πλανᾶσθε (be deceived): οὔτε (neither) πόρνοι (the sexually immoral), οὔτε (nor) εἰδωλολάτραι (idolaters), οὔτε (nor) μοιχοὶ (adulterers), οὔτε (nor) μαλακοὶ (effeminate), οὔτε (nor) ἀρσενοκοῖται (homosexuals), ¹⁰ οὔτε (nor) κλέπται (thieves), οὔτε (nor) πλεονέκται (coveters), οὐ (not) μέθυσοι (drunkards), οὐ (nor) λοίδοροι (verbal abusers), οὐχ (nor) ἅρπαγες (swindlers), βασιλείαν (the kingdom) Θεοῦ (of God) κληρονομήσουσιν (will inherit). ¹¹ καὶ (And) ταῦτά (such) τινες (some of) ἦτε (you were); ἀλλὰ (but) ἀπελούσασθε (you were washed), ἀλλὰ (but) ἡγιάσθητε (you were sanctified), ἀλλὰ (but) ἐδικαιώθητε (you were justified), ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) καὶ (and) ἐν (by) τῷ (the) Πνεύματι (Spirit) τοῦ (of the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us).

¹³ “Τὰ (The) βρώματα (foods) τῇ (for the) κοιλίᾳ (belly) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) κοιλία (belly) τοῖς (the) βρώμασιν (for foods),” ὁ (-) δὲ (but) Θεὸς (God) καὶ (both) ταύτην (this) καὶ (and) ταῦτα (these) καταργήσει (will destroy); τὸ (-) δὲ (and) σῶμα (the body is) οὐ (not) τῇ (-) πορνείᾳ (for sexual immorality), ἀλλὰ (but) τῷ (for the) Κυρίῳ (Lord), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) τῷ (for the) σώματι (body). ¹⁴ ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Θεὸς (God) καὶ (both) τὸν (the) Κύριον (Lord) ἤγειρεν (has raised up), καὶ (and) ἡμᾶς (us) ἐξεγερεῖ (will raise out), διὰ (by) τῆς (the) δυνάμεως (power) αὐτοῦ (of Him). ¹⁵ Οὐκ (Not) οἴδατε (know you) ὅτι (that) τὰ (the) σώματα (bodies) ὑμῶν (of you) μέλη (members) Χριστοῦ (of Christ) ἐστιν (are)? ἄρας (Having taken) οὖν (then) τὰ (the) μέλη (members) τοῦ (of the) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ποιήσω (shall I make) πόρνης (them of a prostitute) μέλη (members)? μὴ (Never) γένοιτο (may it be)! ¹⁶ ἢ (Or) οὐκ (not) οἴδατε (know you) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the one) κολλώμενος (being joined) τῇ (to the) πόρνῃ (prostitute), ἓν (one) σῶμά (body) ἐστιν (is)? “Ἔσονται (Will become),” γάρ (for) φησίν (it says), “Οἱ (the) δύο (two) εἰς (into) σάρκα (flesh) μίαν (one).” ¹⁷ ὁ (The one) δὲ (however) κολλώμενος (being joined) τῷ (to the) Κυρίῳ (Lord), ἓν (one) πνεῦμά (spirit) ἐστιν (is). ¹⁸ Φεύγετε (Flee) τὴν (-) πορνείαν (sexual immorality). πᾶν (Every) ἁμάρτημα (sin), ὃ (whatever) ἐὰν (if) ποιήσῃ (might do) ἄνθρωπος (a man), ἐκτὸς (outside) τοῦ (the) σώματός (body) ἐστιν (is); ὁ (the one) δὲ (however) πορνεύων (sinning sexually), εἰς (against) τὸ (the) ἴδιον (own) σῶμα (body) ἁμαρτάνει (sins).

² διὰ (Because of) δὲ (however) τὰς (-) πορνείας (sexual immorality), ἕκαστος (each man) τὴν (the own) ἑαυτοῦ (of him) γυναῖκα (wife) ἐχέτω (let have), καὶ (and) ἑκάστη (each woman) τὸν (the) ἴδιον (own) ἄνδρα (husband) ἐχέτω (let have).

²¹ μὴ (lest) πάλιν (again) ἐλθόντος (having come) μου (of me), ταπεινώσῃ (should humble) με (me) ὁ (the) Θεός (God) μου (of me) πρὸς (as to) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) πενθήσω (I should mourn over) πολλοὺς (many) τῶν (of those) προημαρτηκότων (having before sinned) καὶ (and) μὴ (not) μετανοησάντων (having repented) ἐπὶ (of) τῇ (the) ἀκαθαρσίᾳ (impurity) καὶ (and) πορνείᾳ (sexual immorality) καὶ (and) ἀσελγείᾳ (sensuality) ᾗ (that) ἔπραξαν (they have practiced).

³ Πορνεία (Sexual immorality) δὲ (however), καὶ (and) ἀκαθαρσία (impurity) πᾶσα (all), ἢ (or) πλεονεξία (covetousness), μηδὲ (not even) ὀνομαζέσθω (let be named) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), καθὼς (as also) πρέπει (is proper) ἁγίοις (to saints), ⁴ καὶ (and) αἰσχρότης (filthiness), καὶ (and) μωρολογία (foolish talking), ἢ (or) εὐτραπελία (crude joking), ἃ (which) οὐκ (not) ἀνῆκεν (are fitting); ἀλλὰ (but) μᾶλλον (rather) εὐχαριστία (thanksgiving). ⁵ τοῦτο (This) γὰρ (for) ἴστε (you know), γινώσκοντες (realizing) ὅτι (that) πᾶς (any) πόρνος (fornicator), ἢ (or) ἀκάθαρτος (unclean person), ἢ (or) πλεονέκτης (covetous man), ὅ (who) ἐστιν (is) εἰδωλολάτρης (an idolater), οὐκ (not) ἔχει (has) κληρονομίαν (inheritance) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), καὶ (and) Θεοῦ (of God).

¹⁷ διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this), μὴ (not) γίνεσθε (be) ἄφρονες (foolish), ἀλλὰ (but) συνίετε (understand) τί (what) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord is).

²⁶ ἵνα (so that) αὐτὴν (her) ἁγιάσῃ (He might sanctify), καθαρίσας (having cleansed her) τῷ (by the) λουτρῷ (washing) τοῦ (-) ὕδατος (of water) ἐν (by) ῥήματι (the word), ²⁷ ἵνα (so that) παραστήσῃ (might present) αὐτὸς (He) ἑαυτῷ (to Himself) ἔνδοξον (in glory) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church), μὴ (not) ἔχουσαν (having) σπίλον (spot) ἢ (or) ῥυτίδα (wrinkle) ἤ (or) τι (any) τῶν (of the) τοιούτων (such things), ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (that) ᾖ (it would be) ἁγία (holy) καὶ (and) ἄμωμος (blameless).

⁴ εἰδέναι (to know) ἕκαστον (each) ὑμῶν (of you how) τὸ (the) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself) σκεῦος (vessel) κτᾶσθαι (to control) ἐν (in) ἁγιασμῷ (holiness) καὶ (and) τιμῇ (honor),

¹⁸ ἐν (In) παντὶ (everything) εὐχαριστεῖτε (give thanks); τοῦτο (this) γὰρ (for) θέλημα (is the will) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) εἰς (toward) ὑμᾶς (you).

²³ Αὐτὸς (Himself) δὲ (now), ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) τῆς (-) εἰρήνης (of peace) ἁγιάσαι (may sanctify) ὑμᾶς (you) ὁλοτελεῖς (completely); καὶ (and) ὁλόκληρον (entirely) ὑμῶν (your) τὸ (-) πνεῦμα (spirit) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) ψυχὴ (soul) καὶ (and) τὸ (-) σῶμα (body), ἀμέμπτως (blameless) ἐν (at) τῇ (the) παρουσίᾳ (coming) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), τηρηθείη (may be preserved).

³⁶ ὑπομονῆς (Of endurance) γὰρ (for) ἔχετε (You have) χρείαν (need), ἵνα (so that), τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ποιήσαντες (having done), κομίσησθε (you may receive) τὴν (the) ἐπαγγελίαν (promise).

¹⁶ μή (lest there be) τις (any) πόρνος (fornicator) ἢ (or) βέβηλος (profane person), ὡς (as) Ἠσαῦ (Esau), ὃς (who) ἀντὶ (for) βρώσεως (meal) μιᾶς (one) ἀπέδετο (sold) τὰ (the) πρωτοτόκια (birthright) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself).

⁴ Τίμιος (Honorable let) ὁ (-) γάμος (marriage be) ἐν (in) πᾶσιν (all), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) κοίτη (marriage bed) ἀμίαντος (undefiled); πόρνους (the sexually immoral) γὰρ (for) καὶ (and) μοιχοὺς (adulterers) κρινεῖ (will judge) ὁ (-) Θεός (God).

²¹ καταρτίσαι (equip) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐν (in) παντὶ (everything) ἀγαθῷ (good), εἰς (in order) τὸ (-) ποιῆσαι (to do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ποιῶν (working) ἐν (in) ἡμῖν (us) τὸ (that which is) εὐάρεστον (well pleasing) ἐνώπιον (before) αὐτοῦ (Him), διὰ (through) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ᾧ (to whom be) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages). ἀμήν (Amen).

² κατὰ (according to) πρόγνωσιν (the foreknowledge) Θεοῦ (of God) Πατρός (the Father), ἐν (by) ἁγιασμῷ (the sanctification) Πνεύματος (of the Spirit), εἰς (unto) ὑπακοὴν (the obedience) καὶ (and) ῥαντισμὸν (sprinkling) αἵματος (of the blood) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ): Χάρις (Grace) ὑμῖν (to you) καὶ (and) εἰρήνη (peace) πληθυνθείη (may be multiplied).

² εἰς (so as) τὸ (-) μηκέτι (no longer) ἀνθρώπων (to men’s) ἐπιθυμίαις (desires) ἀλλὰ (but) θελήματι (to the will) Θεοῦ (of God), τὸν (the) ἐπίλοιπον (remaining) ἐν (in) σαρκὶ (the flesh) βιῶσαι (to live) χρόνον (time).

¹⁷ καὶ (And) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) παράγεται (is passing away), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἐπιθυμία (desire) αὐτοῦ (of it); ὁ (the one) δὲ (however) ποιῶν (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μένει (abides) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) αἰῶνα (age).

⁸ Τοῖς (-) δὲ (But) δειλοῖς (to the cowardly) καὶ (and) ἀπίστοις (unbelieving) καὶ (and) ἐβδελυγμένοις (having become abominable) καὶ (and) φονεῦσιν (murderers) καὶ (and) πόρνοις (the sexually immoral) καὶ (and) φαρμάκοις (sorcerers) καὶ (and) εἰδωλολάτραις (idolaters) καὶ (and) πᾶσιν (all) τοῖς (-) ψευδέσιν (liars), τὸ (the) μέρος (portion) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐν (is in) τῇ (the) λίμνῃ (lake) τῇ (-) καιομένῃ (burning) πυρὶ (with fire) καὶ (and) θείῳ (brimstone), ὅ (which) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) θάνατος (death) ὁ (-) δεύτερος (second).”

¹⁵ ἔξω (Outside are) οἱ (the) κύνες (dogs), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) φάρμακοι (sorcerers), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πόρνοι (sexually immoral), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) φονεῖς (murderers), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) εἰδωλολάτραι (idolaters), καὶ (and) πᾶς (everyone) φιλῶν (loving) καὶ (and) ποιῶν (practicing) ψεῦδος (falsehood).
