²⁰ and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

¹ When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people held a consultation against Jesus, that they might put him to death. ² And they bound him and led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

²⁰ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitude to ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

¹ And forthwith in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin, having held a consultation, and having bound Jesus, led him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

⁶⁶ And when it was day, the elders of the people, the chief priests also and scribes, met together, and led him up to the Sanhedrin, and said:

¹³ And Pilate called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

¹³ The God of Abra ham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you delivered up, and whom you rejected in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to release him. ¹⁴ But you rejected the Holy and Just One, and demanded that a murderer should be given to you; ¹⁵ and you slew the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, ⁹ if we are this day examined with respect unto the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he has been saved, ¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him does this man stand before you in health.

²⁷ For, in truth, against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, did meet together, ²⁸ to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel determined to be done.

³⁰ The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom you slew by hanging him on a tree. ³¹ Him has God exalted to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, in order to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins:

²⁷ For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, be cause they did not know him, nor the words of the prophets, which are read every sabbath-day, have fulfilled them in condemning him. ²⁸ And though they found no cause of death, yet they demanded of Pilate that he should be slain. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher.
