¹⁶ Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, by teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with gratitude in your hearts to the Lord.

³⁰ And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them. And his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

³⁹ You search the scriptures, because in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify concerning me: ⁴⁰ and yet you refuse to come to me, that you may have life.

⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you.

¹⁷ So, then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

¹⁴ And I myself am persuaded concerning you, my brethren, that you yourselves are full of all goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also to instruct one another.

¹⁵ What, then, is it? I will pray with the spirit which is given to me, and I will pray with my understanding also. I will sing with the spirit that is given to me, and I will sing with my understanding also.

²⁶ What, then, is it, brethren? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has something to teach, has an unknown tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the acknowledgment of him,

¹⁷ Wherefore, be not ignorant, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

⁹ For this reason, we also, from the day in which we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to request that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

²⁸ whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every one.

¹⁸ So, then, comfort one another with these words.

¹¹ Wherefore, exhort one another, and edify one another, as you also do. ¹² Now we beseech you, brethren, to have regard for those who labor among you, and preside over you in the Lord, and admonish you,

¹⁵ and yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

¹⁷ Charge those who are rich in this age, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us all things richly for our enjoyment,

¹⁵ and that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise in order to salvation, through faith that is in Christ Jesus.

⁶ which he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

¹² For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, and pierces even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ And there is no creature which is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked, and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an ac count.

¹² Wherefore, lift up the hands that hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees, ¹³ and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned aside; but rather let it be restored to health. ¹⁴ Follow peace with all, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord; ¹⁵ taking care, lest any one slight the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness spring up and trouble you, and by this many be defiled;

⁵ Now, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

¹³ Is any one among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any one cheerful? let him sing praise.

¹¹ inquiring what things, and what time, the Spirit of Christ that was in them did signify, when it testified, before hand, the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them; ¹² to whom it was revealed, that, not for themselves, but for us, they ministered the things that are now preached to you by those who have made known to you the gospel, through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; into which things angels desire to look.

¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.

²⁴ Let that, therefore, abide in you which you have heard from the beginning. If that abide in you which you have heard from the beginning, you also shall abide in the Son and in the Father.

²⁷ And the anointing which you have received from him abides in you; and you have no need that any one should teach you: but, as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true and is no lie, even as it has taught you, abide in it.

² we all love you, on account of the truth that dwells in us, and which will be with us forever:

⁹ And they sung a new song, saying: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation:

³ And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders: and no one was able to learn the song, but the hundred and forty-four thousand that had been redeemed from the earth.

³ And they sung the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and wonderful are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him; and he said to me: See that you do it not; I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus; worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
