¹³ And they brought forward false witnesses, who said: This man ceases not to speak words against this holy place, and the law.

¹⁵ When, therefore, you see that detestable thing that makes desolate, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let him that reads understand;)

¹¹ Then they instigated men to say: We have heard him speak impious words against Moses, and against God.

⁵⁸ and drove him out of the city, and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man called Saul.

²⁸ crying out: Men of Israel, help! this is the man who teaches all men every where against this people, and the law, and this place: and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple, and defiled this holy place.
