³ And there appeared to them tongues like fire, which distributed them selves, and sat one on each of them.

¹¹ I immerse you in water, in order to repentance; but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:

¹⁵ But Jesus answering said to him: Permit it now; for thus it be comes us to perform fully every righteous act. Then he permitted him.

³² And they said one to an other, Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

³² And John testified, saying: I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. ³³ And I knew him not; but he that sent me to immerse in water, said to me, On whom you shall see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is he that immerses in the Holy Spirit.

¹⁵ And in those days Peter arose in the midst of the disciples, (the number of the names together was about a hundred and twenty,) and said:

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹⁰ to another, the working of mighty deeds; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, different kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So is the tongue placed among our members, defiling the whole body, setting on fire the course of life, and being set on fire by hell.

³ And I will give to my two witnesses, that they may prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

⁶ And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having the eternal gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, even to every nation and tribe and tongue and people;
