¹ As it respects the collection which is for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so also do you.

¹³ But Ananias answered: Lord, I have heard from many of this man, how much evil he has done to thy saints in Jerusalem;

⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and raised her up. And when he had called in the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.

²⁸ And one of them, named Agabus, rose and made known, by the Spirit, that a great famine was about to come on the whole habitable land; which took place in the days of Claudius.

³⁰ which also they did; and they sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

⁶ When they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, being forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia,

²³ And having spent some time there, he departed, and went through the region of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

¹⁷ But, after many years, I came to bring charitable gifts to my nation, and offerings.

¹³ administer to the necessities of the saints; be careful to entertain strangers;

²⁵ But now I am going to Jerusalem, to minister to the saints. ²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor saints who are in Jerusalem:

¹ We make known to you, brethren, God's gracious gift, which has been given in the churches of Macedonia; ² that under an afflicting trial, their overflowing joy, and their deep poverty, abounded to the riches of their liberality; ³ for I testify that according to their power, and beyond their power, they gave voluntarily, ⁴ beseeching us, with much entreaty, that they might give, and take part in the ministering to the saints; ⁵ and they did this, not only as we had hoped, but they gave them selves first to the Lord, and then to us, through the will of God; ⁶ so that we exhorted Titus, that, as he had previously begun, so he would bring to an end this gift among you also. ⁷ Now as you excel in every thing, in faith, and in speech, and in knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us, see that you excel in this gift also. ⁸ I do not speak this as a commandment, but on account of the zeal of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet, for your sakes, he became poor, that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

¹² because the administration of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also abounds in many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ (since through the proof which this service gives, they glorify God for your acknowledged subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution for them, and for all;) ¹⁴ and in their prayer for you, since they have strong affection for you on account of the eminent grace of God that is in you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

² and all the brethren that are with me, to the churches of Galatia:

¹⁰ requesting only that we would remember the poor, which same thing I have been diligent in doing.

⁵ hearing of your love and your faith, which you have in the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints,

⁷ For we have great joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shown for his name by having ministered to the saints, and by continuing to minister.

¹⁷ Whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts his heart against him, how dwells the love of God in him?
