⁹ And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must needs come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.}

Jehovah is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
Jehovah is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh,
[Even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though a host should encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear:
Though war should rise against me,
Even then will I be confident.

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. ² Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change,
And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas

⁷ He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:
His heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear,
Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh: ²⁶ For Jehovah will be thy confidence,
And will keep thy foot from being taken.

¹² Say ye not, A conspiracy, concerning all whereof this people shall say, A conspiracy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be in dread [thereof].

¹² I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou art afraid of man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass; ¹³ and hast forgotten Jehovah thy Maker, that stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fearest continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he maketh ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

¹⁹ My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I cannot hold my peace; because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. ²⁰ Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is laid waste: suddenly are my tents destroyed, [and] my curtains in a moment.

⁶ And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. ⁸ But all these things are the beginning of travail.

²⁸ But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.}
