¹ Now it came to pass in those days, there went out a decree from Cζsar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled. ² This was the first enrolment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria. ³ And all went to enrol themselves, every one to his own city. ⁴ And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judζa, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David; ⁵ to enrol himself with Mary, who was betrothed to him, being great with child. ⁶ And it came to pass, while they were there, the days were fulfilled that she should be delivered. ⁷ And she brought forth her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
⁸ And there were shepherds in the same country abiding in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock. ⁹ And an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. ¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: ¹¹ for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. ¹² And this [is] the sign unto you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger. ¹³ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men in whom he is well pleased. ¹⁵ And it came to pass, when the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. ¹⁶ And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger. ¹⁷ And when they saw it, they made known concerning the saying which was spoken to them about this child. ¹⁸ And all that heard it wondered at the things which were spoken unto them by the shepherds. ¹⁹ But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart. ²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, even as it was spoken unto them.
²¹ And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called JESUS, which was so called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. ²² And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord ²³ (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord), ²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. ²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him. ²⁶ And it had been revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. ²⁷ And he came in the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do concerning him after the custom of the law, ²⁸ then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, ²⁹ Now lettest thou thy servant depart, Lord,
According to thy word, in peace; ³⁰ For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, ³¹ Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples; ³² A light for revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of thy people Israel. ³³ And his father and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him; ³⁴ and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this [child] is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against; ³⁵ yea and a sword shall pierce through thine own soul; that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed. ³⁶ And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, ³⁷ and she had been a widow even unto fourscore and four years), who departed not from the temple, worshipping with fastings and supplications night and day. ³⁸ And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks unto God, and spake of him to all them that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. ³⁹ And when they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
⁴⁰ And the child grew, and waxed strong, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
⁴¹ And his parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover. ⁴² And when he was twelve years old, they went up after the custom of the feast; ⁴³ and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem: and his parents knew it not; ⁴⁴ but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day's journey; and they sought for him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance: ⁴⁵ and when they found him not, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking for him. ⁴⁶ And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions: ⁴⁷ and all that heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. ⁴⁸ And when they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I sought thee sorrowing. ⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Father's house? ⁵⁰ And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. ⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and he was subject unto them: and his mother kept all [these] sayings in her heart.
⁵² And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

¹⁷ Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cζsar, or not?

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

⁹ And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.}

¹⁵ And he said unto them, { Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.

¹ Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cζsar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judζa, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Iturζa and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

²⁸ And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius.

¹¹ If then I am a wrong-doer, and have committed anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die; but if none of those things is [true] whereof these accuse me, no man can give me up unto them. I appeal unto Cζsar.

²¹ But when Paul had appealed to be kept for the decision of the emperor, I commanded him to be kept till I should send him to Cζsar.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

²² All the saints salute you, especially they that are of Cζsar's household.

²⁴ And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them.

³⁷ After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away [some of the] people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

⁷ who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. The same called unto him Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

¹² But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment-seat,

²⁶ Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix, greeting.

³⁰ And the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:

¹⁹ And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath (the same is Beth-lehem).

⁷ And as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when there was still some distance to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way to Ephrath (the same is Beth-lehem).

¹⁹ So they two went until they came to Beth-lehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Beth-lehem, that all the city was moved about them, and [the women] said, Is this Naomi?

⁴ And, behold, Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said unto the reapers, Jehovah be with you. And they answered him, Jehovah bless thee.

¹¹ And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that is come into thy house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem:

¹⁷ And the women her neighbors gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

²¹ and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, ²² and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.

¹ And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

⁴ And Samuel did that which Jehovah spake, and came to Beth-lehem. And the elders of the city came to meet him trembling, and said, Comest thou peaceably?

¹² Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth-lehem-judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man was an old man in the days of Saul, stricken [in years] among men.

⁵⁸ And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth-lehemite.

⁶ If thy father miss me at all, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Beth-lehem his city; for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family.

² But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

¹ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judζa in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, ² Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him. ³ And when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born. ⁵ And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judζa: for thus it is written through the prophet, ⁶ And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah:
For out of thee shall come forth a governor,
Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.

²³ and came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene.

²⁶ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, ²⁷ to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

⁴² Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?

²² If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away the evil from Israel.
²³ If there be a damsel that is a virgin betrothed unto a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; ²⁴ then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them to death with stones; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor's wife: so thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.
²⁵ But if the man find the damsel that is betrothed in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only that lay with her shall die: ²⁶ but unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter; ²⁷ for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. ¹⁹ And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

¹¹ The counsel of Jehovah standeth fast for ever,
The thoughts of his heart to all generations.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart;
But the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand.

⁵⁷ Now Elisabeth's time was fulfilled that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.

¹ And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars; ² and she was with child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered. ³ And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems. ⁴ And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child. ⁵ And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.

²⁷ And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the lodging-place, he espied his money; and, behold, it was in the mouth of his sack.

²¹ and it came to pass, when we came to the lodging-place, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

²⁴ And it came to pass on the way at the lodging-place, that Jehovah met him, and sought to kill him.

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised of the people.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

² For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. ³ He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.

²⁵ and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS.

²⁰ And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?

¹¹ for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. ¹² And this [is] the sign unto you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.

³⁴ and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on [them] oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

⁴ but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

³⁹ That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day or stolen by night. ⁴⁰ Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep fled from mine eyes.

¹ Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb. ² And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

³⁴ And David said unto Saul, Thy servant was keeping his father's sheep; and when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock, ³⁵ I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

⁷⁰ He chose David also his servant,
And took him from the sheepfolds: ⁷¹ From following the ewes that have their young he brought him,
To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

⁸ As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely forasmuch as my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my sheep;

⁸ All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. ⁹ I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. ¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly. ¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. ¹² He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth [them]:

⁷ and in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of Jehovah; for that he heareth your murmurings against Jehovah: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?

¹⁰ And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of Jehovah appeared in the cloud.

³⁴ Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle.

¹¹ And the angel of Jehovah came, and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. ¹² And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him, and said unto him, Jehovah is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.

¹¹ so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah filled the house of Jehovah.

³ And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. ⁴ And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God.

⁵ and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.

¹ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee.

²³ Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of Jehovah stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

²⁰ But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

¹¹ And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. ¹² And Zacharias was troubled when he saw [him], and fear fell upon him.

²⁸ And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord [is] with thee.

⁴ And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel:

⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, because he saw his glory; and he spake of him.

¹⁹ But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,

⁷ And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shined in the cell: and he smote Peter on the side, and awoke him, saying, Rise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

⁶ And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and drew nigh unto Damascus, about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. ⁷ And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁸ And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. ⁹ And they that were with me beheld indeed the light, but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

¹³ at midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them that journeyed with me. ¹⁴ And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying unto me in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the goad.

²³ For there stood by me this night an angel of the God whose I am, whom also I serve,

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

²¹ and so fearful was the appearance, [that] Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:

¹ After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

³ and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

God be merciful unto us, and bless us,
[And] cause his face to shine upon us; [Selah ² That thy way may be known upon earth,
Thy salvation among all nations.

² Jehovah hath made known his salvation:
His righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the nations. ³ He hath remembered his lovingkindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel:
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁹ O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God!

²⁷ [I am the] first [that saith] unto Zion, Behold, behold them; and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.

⁶ yea, he saith, It is too light a thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

⁷ How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

¹⁰ Jehovah hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound;

¹¹ And he said unto me, O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. ¹² Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard: and I am come for thy words' sake.

¹⁹ And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he spake unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

²⁷ But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

⁵ And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye; for I know that ye seek Jesus, who hath been crucified.

¹⁸ And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, { All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁵ and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.

¹³ But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: because thy supplication is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

¹⁹ And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak unto thee, and to bring thee these good tidings.

³⁰ And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.

³¹ Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples; ³² A light for revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of thy people Israel.

¹ And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good tidings of the kingdom of God, and with him the twelve,

⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

³² And we bring you good tidings of the promise made unto the fathers,

¹⁵ and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written,
Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles,
And sing unto thy name. ¹⁰ And again he saith,
Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again,
Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles;
And let all the peoples praise him. ¹² And again, Isaiah saith,
There shall be the root of Jesse,
And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles;
On him shall the Gentiles hope.

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

²³ if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, { Fear not; I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁵ and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

¹⁰ The sceptre shall not depart from Judah,
Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet,
Until Shiloh come:
And unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be.

² The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against Jehovah, and against his anointed, [saying],

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.

¹⁶ and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

²⁰ Then charged he the disciples that they should tell no man that he was the Christ.

⁴³ And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come unto me?

⁶⁹ And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us
In the house of his servant David

⁴ And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judζa, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David;

²⁶ And it had been revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

⁴¹ And he said unto them, { How say they that the Christ is David's son?
⁴² For David himself saith in the book of Psalms,
The Lord said unto my Lord,
Sit thou on my right hand, ⁴³ Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. ⁴⁴ David therefore calleth him Lord, and how is he his son?}

⁴¹ He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴² and they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy speaking: for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.

⁶⁹ And we have believed and know that thou art the Holy One of God.

²⁵ Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? ²⁶ And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ? ²⁷ Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?

²⁷ She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, [even] he that cometh into the world.

³¹ but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.

³¹ Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

³⁶ The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all)—

³ opening and alleging that it behooved the Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom, [said he], I proclaim unto you, is the Christ.

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

⁴ but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, ⁵ that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁸ Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

⁶ As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him,

⁹ who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal, ¹⁰ but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

¹⁰ not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. ¹¹ For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, ¹² instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world; ¹³ looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; ¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, ⁵ not by works [done] in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; ⁷ that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁴ And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father hath sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world.

¹ Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

¹² And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be the token unto thee, that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

³⁴ And this shall be the sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both of them.

² When thou art departed from me to-day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre, in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found; and, lo, thy father hath left off caring for the asses, and is anxious for you, saying, What shall I do for my son? ³ Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the oak of Tabor; and there shall meet thee there three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: ⁴ and they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread, which thou shalt receive of their hand. ⁵ After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a timbrel, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they will be prophesying: ⁶ and the Spirit of Jehovah will come mightily upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. ⁷ And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion shall serve thee; for God is with thee.

²⁹ And this shall be the sign unto thee: ye shall eat this year that which groweth of itself, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.

⁸ And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that Jehovah will heal me, and that I shall go up unto the house of Jehovah the third day?

¹¹ Ask thee a sign of Jehovah thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

¹ Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed? ² For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

¹² And he dreamed; and behold, a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

¹ And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. ² And Jacob said when he saw them, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

¹⁹ And [Micaiah] said, Therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

⁷ When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands:
The Lord is among them, [as in] Sinai, in the sanctuary.

²⁰ Bless Jehovah, ye his angels,
That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word,
Hearkening unto the voice of his word. ²¹ Bless Jehovah, all ye his hosts,
Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

² Praise ye him, all his angels:
Praise ye him, all his host.

² Above him stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. ³ And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

¹² Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, [saying], Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place.

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

¹⁰ Even so, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.}

¹⁰ to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

¹¹ And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

³⁴ Let heaven and earth praise him,
The seas, and everything that moveth therein. ³⁵ For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah;
And they shall abide there, and have it in possession.

⁹ Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him,
That glory may dwell in our land. ¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. ¹¹ Truth springeth out of the earth;
And righteousness hath looked down from heaven. ¹² Yea, Jehovah will give that which is good;
And our land shall yield its increase.

¹¹ Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; ¹² Let the field exult, and all that is therein;
Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy ¹³ Before Jehovah; for he cometh,
For he cometh to judge the earth:
He will judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with his truth.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

²³ Sing, O ye heavens, for Jehovah hath done it; shout, ye lower parts of the earth; break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for Jehovah hath redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.

¹³ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for Jehovah hath comforted his people, and will have compassion upon his afflicted.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith Jehovah; and I will heal him.

⁵ Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

⁵ And this [man] shall be [our] peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

¹² and speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build the temple of Jehovah; ¹³ even he shall build the temple of Jehovah; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

⁷⁹ To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death;
To guide our feet into the way of peace.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son: in thee I am well pleased.

³⁸ saying, Blessed [is] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

⁴ I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁸ But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
²⁰ We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech [you] on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:

⁹ making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

⁴ but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

⁷ that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:

¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition, ¹⁵ having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, [so] making peace; ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: ¹⁷ and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh: ¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.

²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, ²¹ unto him [be] the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.

¹³ for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, [I say], whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens.

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus, ²¹ make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

⁹ Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying,
Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, [be] the blessing, and the honor, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.

³ And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

¹ And it came to pass, when Jehovah would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

¹¹ And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, which parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

² The works of Jehovah are great,
Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

¹ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judζa in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, ² Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

⁹ And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. ¹⁰ And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. ¹¹ And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

⁴² The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

⁵¹ And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

¹ Now on the first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb. ² She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him. ³ Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb. ⁴ And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb; ⁵ and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in. ⁶ Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying, ⁷ and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed. ⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. ¹⁰ So the disciples went away again unto their own home.

²² who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

¹⁰ Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.

³⁹ And Mary arose in these days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah;

⁷ And she brought forth her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

¹² And this [is] the sign unto you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.

³² And they that were sent went away, and found even as he had said unto them.

¹³ And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth;
My flesh also shall dwell in safety. ¹⁰ For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol;
Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.

¹⁶ Come, and hear, all ye that fear God,
And I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

¹⁷ O God, thou hast taught me from my youth;
And hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. ¹⁸ Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not,
Until I have declared thy strength unto [the next] generation,
Thy might to every one that is to come.

¹⁶ Then they that feared Jehovah spake one with another; and Jehovah hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him, for them that feared Jehovah, and that thought upon his name.

³⁸ And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks unto God, and spake of him to all them that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.

³⁹ Return to thy house, and declare how great things God hath done for thee. And he went his way, publishing throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done for him.

⁴¹ He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ). ⁴² He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).
⁴³ On the morrow he was minded to go forth into Galilee, and he findeth Philip: and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me. ⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. ⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

²⁸ So the woman left her waterpot, and went away into the city, and saith to the people, ²⁹ Come, see a man, who told me all things that [ever] I did: can this be the Christ?

¹⁸ Behold, I and the children whom Jehovah hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Jehovah of hosts, who dwelleth in mount Zion.

⁶⁵ And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judζa. ⁶⁶ And all that heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, What then shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.

³³ And his father and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him;

⁴⁷ and all that heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

³⁶ And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

⁹ For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken; ¹⁰ and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

¹¹ And his brethren envied him; but his father kept the saying in mind.

¹² And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.

⁴ And he taught me, and said unto me:
Let thy heart retain my words;
Keep my commandments, and live;

⁹ Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

⁶⁶ And all that heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, What then shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and he was subject unto them: and his mother kept all [these] sayings in her heart.

⁴³ And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marvelling at all the things which he did, he said unto his disciples, ⁴⁴ Let these words sink into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered up into the hands of men.

¹⁰ Wherefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. ¹¹ Thine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth [is thine]; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

¹⁷ His name shall endure for ever;
His name shall be continued as long as the sun:
And men shall be blessed in him;
All nations shall call him happy.
¹⁸ Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,
Who only doeth wondrous things: ¹⁹ And blessed be his glorious name for ever;
And let the whole earth be filled with his glory.

⁸ But when the multitudes saw it, they were afraid, and glorified God, who had given such authority unto men.

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

³⁷ And as he was now drawing nigh, [even] at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen; ³⁸ saying, Blessed [is] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

⁴⁶ And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved.

¹⁸ And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.

¹² And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any foreigner that is not of thy seed.

³ And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

¹⁵ But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him.

³¹ And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

⁵⁹ And it came to pass on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.

⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

¹ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, ² Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean. ³ And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. ⁴ And she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. ⁵ But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying threescore and six days.
⁶ And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest: ⁷ and he shall offer it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth, whether a male or a female. ⁸ And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

² Sanctify unto me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

¹² that thou shalt set apart unto Jehovah all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be Jehovah's. ¹³ And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck: and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem. ¹⁴ And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: ¹⁵ and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that Jehovah slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast: therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem.

²⁹ Thou shalt not delay to offer of thy harvest, and of the outflow of thy presses. The first-born of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.

¹⁹ All that openeth the womb is mine; and all thy cattle that is male, the firstlings of cow and sheep.

¹³ for all the first-born are mine; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast; mine they shall be: I am Jehovah.

¹⁶ For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me. ¹⁷ For all the first-born among the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

¹⁵ Everything that openeth the womb, of all flesh which they offer unto Jehovah, both of man and beast shall be thine: nevertheless the first-born of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

² Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean.

⁹ These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, [and] perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God.

²⁵ And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

²⁹ And Moses said unto him, Art thou jealous for my sake? would that all Jehovah's people were prophets, that Jehovah would put his Spirit upon them!

¹ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.

⁸ And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil.

⁹ And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

¹ Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

²² My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me; forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. ²³ Then was the king exceeding glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.

⁸ He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

⁴³ there came Joseph of Arimathζa, a councillor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

⁴¹ And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit;

⁶⁷ And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,

⁵¹ (he had not consented to their counsel and deed), [a man] of Arimathζa, a city of the Jews, who was looking for the kingdom of God:

² a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.

²² And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee.

¹⁶ Herein I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men always.

²¹ For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

⁶ Yet I have set my king
Upon my holy hill of Zion.

¹⁴ The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him;
And he will show them his covenant.

⁴⁸ What man is he that shall live and not see death,
That shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? [Selah ⁴⁹ Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses,
Which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?

⁷ Surely the Lord Jehovah will do nothing, except he reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets.

²⁷ But I tell you of a truth, There are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.}

²⁹ Come, see a man, who told me all things that [ever] I did: can this be the Christ?

⁵¹ Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my word, he shall never see death.}

²⁰ And straightway in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, that he is the Son of God.

³⁸ [even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

⁸ but of the Son [he saith],
Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever;
And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. ⁹ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;
Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee
With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁵ By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for he hath had witness borne to him that before his translation he had been well-pleasing unto God:

¹ Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

²² And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord

⁴¹ And his parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.

⁴⁸ And when they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I sought thee sorrowing.

¹ And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness

²⁹ And the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

¹⁹ And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

¹² And the Spirit bade me go with them, making no distinction. And these six brethren also accompanied me; and we entered into the man's house:

⁷ and when they were come over against Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia; and the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not;

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet

³ And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

¹¹ Be glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, ye righteous;
And shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

¹ Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name;
Make known among the peoples his doings. ² Sing unto him, sing praises unto him;
Talk ye of all his marvellous works. ³ Glory ye in his holy name:
Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.

¹⁹ O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah:
O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah: ²⁰ O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah:
Ye that fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.

³⁶ And he took a little child, and set him in the midst of them: and taking him in his arms, he said unto them,

¹⁶ And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.

⁴⁶ And Mary said,
My soul doth magnify the Lord,

⁶⁴ And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue [loosed], and he spake, blessing God.

⁶⁸ Blessed [be] the Lord, the God of Israel;
For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people,

¹³ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men in whom he is well pleased.

²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, even as it was spoken unto them.

¹⁵ But thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

³⁰ And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.

³⁷ Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright;
For there is a [happy] end to the man of peace.

¹ The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come]. ² He entereth into peace; they rest in their beds, each one that walketh in his uprightness.

²³ But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ; for it is very far better:

¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven saying, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth: yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.

¹⁸ I have waited for thy salvation, O Jehovah.

¹ Now these are the last words of David.
David the son of Jesse saith,
And the man who was raised on high saith,
The anointed of the God of Jacob,
And the sweet psalmist of Israel: ² The Spirit of Jehovah spake by me,
And his word was upon my tongue. ³ The God of Israel said,
The Rock of Israel spake to me:
One that ruleth over men righteously,
That ruleth in the fear of God, ⁴ [He shall be] as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,
A morning without clouds,
[When] the tender grass [springeth] out of the earth,
Through clear shining after rain. ⁵ Verily my house is not so with God;
Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant,
Ordered in all things, and sure:
For it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire,
Although he maketh it not to grow.

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: ¹¹ for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.

⁶ And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

¹⁰ be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] in him doth this man stand here before you whole. ¹¹ He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. ¹² And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

¹ Oh sing unto Jehovah a new song:
Sing unto Jehovah, all the earth. ² Sing unto Jehovah, bless his name;
Show forth his salvation from day to day. ³ Declare his glory among the nations,
His marvellous works among all the peoples.

¹⁰ Say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth:
The world also is established that it cannot be moved:
He will judge the peoples with equity

⁶ The heavens declare his righteousness,
And all the peoples have seen his glory. ⁷ Let all them be put to shame that serve graven images,
That boast themselves of idols:
Worship him, all ye gods. ⁸ Zion heard and was glad,
And the daughters of Judah rejoiced,
Because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.

¹ Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. ² He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street. ³ A bruised reed will he not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth. ⁴ He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.

¹⁰ Sing unto Jehovah a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth; ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. ¹¹ Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up [their voice], the villages that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. ¹² Let them give glory unto Jehovah, and declare his praise in the islands.

²¹ Declare ye, and bring [it] forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I, Jehovah? and there is no God else besides me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none besides me. ²² Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. ²³ By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ Only in Jehovah, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against him shall be put to shame. ²⁵ In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

¹ For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth. ² And the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory, and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah shall name.

⁹ Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him,
That glory may dwell in our land.

² In that day shall the branch of Jehovah be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

² The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

⁶ I, Jehovah, have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thy hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; ⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

²⁵ In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

¹ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. ² For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. ³ And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Jehovah will be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

¹¹ Hath a nation changed [its] gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

⁵ For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

¹⁶ The people that sat in darkness
Saw a great light,
And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death,
To them did light spring up.

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people:

⁴⁷ For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying],
I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles,
That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth. ⁴⁸ And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

²³ how that the Christ must suffer, [and] how that he first by the resurrection of the dead should proclaim light both to the people and to the Gentiles.

²⁸ Be it known therefore unto you, that this salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles: they will also hear.

⁸ For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises [given] unto the fathers, ⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written,
Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles,
And sing unto thy name.

³¹ that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

²³ And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof [is] the Lamb.

¹⁹ And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth:

⁷ And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.

⁴³ And Moses saw all the work, and, behold, they had done it; as Jehovah had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

²² And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings. ²³ And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the people.

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised of the people. ⁷ All they that see me laugh me to scorn:
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, [saying], ⁸ Commit [thyself] unto Jehovah; let him deliver him:
Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.

⁹ For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up;
And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me. ¹⁰ When I wept, [and chastened] my soul with fasting,
That was to my reproach. ¹¹ When I made sackcloth my clothing,
I became a byword unto them. ¹² They that sit in the gate talk of me;
And [I am] the song of the drunkards.

¹⁴ And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And many shall stumble thereon, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! And wisdom is justified by her works.}

⁴⁶ While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him.

⁴⁴ And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.}

⁶⁵ Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy: ⁶⁶ what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death. ⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face and buffet him: and some smote him with the palms of their hands,

⁴⁰ and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ In like manner also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said, ⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him. ⁴³ He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ And the robbers also that were crucified with him cast upon him the same reproach.
⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again.

²⁰ For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his works should be reproved.

¹⁸ For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

⁴⁸ The Jews answered and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon? ⁴⁹ Jesus answered, { I have not a demon; but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me. ⁵⁰ But I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. ⁵¹ Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my word, he shall never see death.} ⁵² The Jews said unto him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my word, he shall never taste of death.

²⁴ So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner. ²⁵ He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. ²⁶ They said therefore unto him, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? ²⁷ He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples? ²⁸ And they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses. ²⁹ We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
³⁷ Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? ³⁸ And Peter [said] unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him. ⁴⁰ And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation. ⁴¹ They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added [unto them] in that day about three thousand souls.

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And by faith in his name hath his name made this man strong, whom ye behold and know: yea, the faith which is through him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. ¹⁷ And now, brethren, I know that in ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. ¹⁸ But the things which God foreshowed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled. ¹⁹ Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord;

²⁶ The kings of the earth set themselves in array,
And the rulers were gathered together,
Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:

⁷ And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

¹ But Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, ² and asked of him letters to Damascus unto the synagogues, that if he found any that were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. ³ And as he journeyed, it came to pass that he drew nigh unto Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven: ⁴ and he fell upon the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], { I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: ⁶ but rise, and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.} ⁷ And the men that journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing the voice, but beholding no man. ⁸ And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing; and they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. ⁹ And he was three days without sight, and did neither eat nor drink.
¹⁰ Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and the Lord said unto him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I [am here], Lord. ¹¹ And the Lord [said] unto him, { Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus: for behold, he prayeth; ¹² and he hath seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.} ¹³ But Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many of this man, how much evil he did to thy saints at Jerusalem: ¹⁴ and here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call upon thy name. ¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, { Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel: ¹⁶ for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake.} ¹⁷ And Ananias departed, and entered into the house; and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, who appeared unto thee in the way which thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received his sight; and he arose and was baptized; ¹⁹ and he took food and was strengthened. And he was certain days with the disciples that were at Damascus.
²⁰ And straightway in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, that he is the Son of God.

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

⁶ And when they found them not, they dragged Jason and certain brethren before the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

⁵ For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

²² But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.

³² Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;

²³ but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;

¹⁵ For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish; ¹⁶ to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

¹ For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

⁷ But without any dispute the less is blessed of the better.

¹ Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of [our] faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

⁷ For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve,
The stone which the builders rejected,
The same was made the head of the corner; ⁸ and,
A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence;
for they stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; because the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you.

² And thou shalt remember all the way which Jehovah thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not.

¹⁵ And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah;

¹⁰ As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me,
While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man doth not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons. ²⁵ And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, { Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: ²⁶ and if Satan casteth out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? ²⁷ And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. ²⁸ But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. ²⁹ Or how can one enter into the house of the strong [man], and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong [man]? and then he will spoil his house. ³⁰ He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. ³¹ Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. ³² And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come. ³³ Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit. ³⁴ Ye offspring of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure bringeth forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

¹⁴ And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him. ¹⁵ And he said unto them, { Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

⁴² Jesus said unto them, { If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me. ⁴³ Why do ye not understand my speech? [Even] because ye cannot hear my word. ⁴⁴ Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. ⁴⁵ But because I say the truth, ye believe me not. ⁴⁶ Which of you convicteth me of sin? If I say truth, why do ye not believe me? ⁴⁷ He that is of God heareth the words of God: for this cause ye hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.}

²² If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. ²³ He that hateth me hateth my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

²⁵ These things therefore the soldiers did. But there were standing by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the [wife] of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God. ²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee. ²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.

¹⁹ For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.

¹³ And Leah said, Happy am I! for the daughters will call me happy: and she called his name Asher.

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

⁴ Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they communed with her.

²⁶ Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age,
Like as a shock of grain cometh in in its season.

¹⁴ They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and green:

¹⁸ Yea and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days
Will I pour forth of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.

⁹ Now this man had four virgin daughters, who prophesied.

¹ Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

⁶ Of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand;
Of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand;
Of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand;

⁸ And he made the laver of brass, and the base thereof of brass, of the mirrors of the ministering women that ministered at the door of the tent of meeting.

² There is none holy as Jehovah;
For there is none besides thee,
Neither is there any rock like our God.

² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not;
And in the night season, and am not silent.

⁶ Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.

⁴ One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after:
That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of Jehovah,
And to inquire in his temple.

³ Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

²³ And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.

⁷ unto which [promise] our twelve tribes, earnestly serving [God] night and day, hope to attain. And concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, O king!

⁵ Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, hath her hope set on God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

¹² He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name.

¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.

⁴⁶ And Mary said,
My soul doth magnify the Lord, ⁴⁷ And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. ⁴⁸ For he hath looked upon the low estate of his handmaid:
For behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. ⁴⁹ For he that is mighty hath done to me great things;
And holy is his name. ⁵⁰ And his mercy is unto generations and generations
On them that fear him. ⁵¹ He hath showed strength with his arm;
He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart. ⁵² He hath put down princes from [their] thrones,

⁶⁴ And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue [loosed], and he spake, blessing God.

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

²⁸ then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, ²⁹ Now lettest thou thy servant depart, Lord,
According to thy word, in peace; ³⁰ For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

²¹ But we hoped that it was he who should redeem Israel. Yea and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things came to pass.

¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

³ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ:

³² What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

²² But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judζa in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither; and being warned [of God] in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee, ²³ and came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene.

²¹ And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called JESUS, which was so called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. ²² And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord ²³ (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord), ²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

²⁴ And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and Jehovah blessed him.

¹⁸ But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

²⁶ And the child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Jehovah, and also with men.

¹⁹ And Samuel grew, and Jehovah was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

⁹ But thou art he that took me out of the womb;
Thou didst make me trust [when I was] upon my mother's breasts.

² Thou art fairer than the children of men;
Grace is poured into thy lips:
Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

¹ And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit. ² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And his delight shall be in the fear of Jehovah; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears; ⁴ but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. ⁵ And righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.

⁸⁰ And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel.

⁵² And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

³³ And with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

² that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, [even] Christ, ³ in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

¹ Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴ And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to Jehovah: throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

¹⁴ Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. ¹⁵ The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep: seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it thou camest out from Egypt); and none shall appear before me empty: ¹⁶ and the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou sowest in the field: and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labors out of the field. ¹⁷ Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord Jehovah.

²³ Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before the Lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.

⁵ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, is Jehovah's passover.

⁵ But unto the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come; ⁶ and thither ye shall bring your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock: ⁷ and there ye shall eat before Jehovah your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee.

¹¹ then it shall come to pass that to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto Jehovah.

¹⁸ but thou shalt eat them before Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before Jehovah thy God in all that thou puttest thy hand unto.

¹ Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Jehovah thy God; for in the month of Abib Jehovah thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night. ² And thou shalt sacrifice the passover unto Jehovah thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Jehovah shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there. ³ Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life. ⁴ And there shall be no leaven seen with thee in all thy borders seven days; neither shall any of the flesh, which thou sacrificest the first day at even, remain all night until the morning. ⁵ Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee; ⁶ but at the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt. ⁷ And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents. ⁸ Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread; and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah thy God; thou shalt do no work [therein].

¹⁶ Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Jehovah thy God in the place which he shall choose: in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles; and they shall not appear before Jehovah empty:

³ And this man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice unto Jehovah of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, priests unto Jehovah, were there.

²¹ And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto Jehovah the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.

¹³ And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

⁴ Now the passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

⁵⁵ Now the passover of the Jews was at hand: and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, to purify themselves.

¹ Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto his Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

¹⁵ Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

¹⁷ Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

²¹ And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised Jehovah day by day, [singing] with loud instruments unto Jehovah. ²² And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that had good understanding [in the service] of Jehovah. So they did eat throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace-offerings, and making confession to Jehovah, the God of their fathers.
²³ And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days; and they kept [other] seven days with gladness.

⁴ These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me,
How I went with the throng, and led them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday.

As a city that is compact together; ⁴ Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah,
[For] an ordinance for Israel,
To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

³ And many peoples shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

⁵ And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

¹² So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come to me again the third day.

¹ Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples, from far: Jehovah hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name: ² and he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me: and he hath made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he kept me close:

⁴ The Lord Jehovah hath given me the tongue of them that are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as they that are taught.

⁴⁰ for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²¹ From that time began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again. ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: and the last error will be worse than the first.

⁴⁴ but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day's journey; and they sought for him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance: ⁴⁵ and when they found him not, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking for him.

¹⁷ And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judζa and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.

³⁴ But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honor of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers;
For thy testimonies are my meditation.

²⁸ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching:

²² And they were astonished at his teaching: for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

²² And all bare him witness, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded out of his mouth: and they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

³² and they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.

¹⁵ The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

⁴⁶ The officers answered, Never man so spake.

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Father's house?

²³ And Jesus himself, when he began [to teach], was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the [son] of Heli,

⁸ I delight to do thy will, O my God;
Yea, thy law is within my heart.

¹ Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.

¹² And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold the doves;

¹⁶ and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. ¹⁷ His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, { My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.

³⁸ For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

²⁹ And he that sent me is with me; he hath not left me alone; for I do always the things that are pleasing to him.}

⁴ We must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

³² But they understood not the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

⁴⁵ But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

³⁴ And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them, and they perceived not the things that were said.

²⁸ Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts much troubled me, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended in him.

¹⁹ But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.

³⁹ And when they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

²¹ subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. ² Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise),

²¹ For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:

³ Let not kindness and truth forsake thee:
Bind them about thy neck;
Write them upon the tablet of thy heart: ⁴ So shalt thou find favor and good understanding
In the sight of God and man.

⁴⁰ And the child grew, and waxed strong, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

⁹ And the patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt: and God was with him, ¹⁰ and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

¹⁸ For he that herein serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved of men.
