⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and said unto him, Zacchζus, make haste, and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house.

³ and said, My lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: ⁴ let now a little water be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: ⁵ and I will fetch a morsel of bread, and strengthen ye your heart; after that ye shall pass on: forasmuch as ye are come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

¹ And the two angels came to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot saw them, and rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face to the earth; ² and he said, Behold now, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your way. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. ³ And he urged them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

² I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way:
Oh when wilt thou come unto me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. ³ I will set no base thing before mine eyes:
I hate the work of them that turn aside;
It shall not cleave unto me.

⁷ There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. ⁸ For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food. ⁹ The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) ¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, { If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

¹ And working together [with him] we entreat also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain

¹⁷ that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

² Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
