¹⁶ And he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemeth the name [of Jehovah], shall be put to death.

⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

¹⁰ and set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst curse God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him to death.
¹¹ And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. ¹³ And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. ¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach?
Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah,
And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.

²⁰ For they speak against thee wickedly,
And thine enemies take [thy name] in vain.

³¹ Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.

⁶⁶ what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.

²⁸ Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: ²⁹ but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin}:
