⁵⁶ Thus God requited the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren;

²⁴ that the violence done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and that their blood might be laid upon Abimelech their brother, who slew them, and upon the men of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to slay his brethren.

³ Is it not calamity to the unrighteous,
And disaster to the workers of iniquity?

¹² For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them;
He forgetteth not the cry of the poor.

⁶ Upon the wicked he will rain snares;
Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance:
He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked; ¹¹ So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:
Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

²³ And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity,
And will cut them off in their own wickedness;
Jehovah our God will cut them off.

²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked,
And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.

² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.

⁴ And when the barbarians saw the [venomous] creature hanging from his hand, they said one to another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped from the sea, yet Justice hath not suffered to live.

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone: ²¹ and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, [even the sword] which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
