¹ Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].

³⁹ The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:

⁴ The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the [evening] oblation, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

¹⁷ Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan;
And he will hear my voice.

¹⁰ And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem); and he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

²¹ yea, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

¹ And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart:

³⁷ And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and sore troubled.

¹⁰ And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the hour of incense.

⁸ And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.

⁴⁴ And it was now about the sixth hour, and a darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, ⁴⁵ the sun's light failing: and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. ⁴⁶ And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost.

⁵³ and were continually in the temple, blessing God.

²³ There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. ²⁴ Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, Tell [us] who it is of whom he speaketh. ²⁵ He leaning back, as he was, on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

² She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him. ³ Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb. ⁴ And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb; ⁵ and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in. ⁶ Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying, ⁷ and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed. ⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

⁷ That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.

¹⁸ Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.} ¹⁹ Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. ²⁰ Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee? ²¹ Peter therefore seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? ²² Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee? follow thou me.

⁴⁶ And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

¹³ Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

²⁵ And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

³ He saw in a vision openly, as it were about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel,

⁹ and when they perceived the grace that was given unto me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision;
