¹⁴ But after no long time there beat down from it a tempestuous wind, which is called Euraquilo:

²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused the sea to go [back] by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. ²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. ²³ And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. ²⁴ And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked forth upon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and discomfited the host of the Egyptians. ²⁵ And he took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for Jehovah fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
²⁶ And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. ²⁷ And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and Jehovah overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

²⁵ For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind,
Which lifteth up the waves thereof. ²⁶ They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths:
Their soul melteth away because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
And are at their wits' end.

²⁶ Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.

³ But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah; and he went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah.
⁴ But Jehovah sent out a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. ⁵ Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god; and they cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it unto them. But Jonah was gone down into the innermost parts of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.

²⁴ And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

³⁷ And there ariseth a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, insomuch that the boat was now filling.
