¹¹ And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

¹¹ And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

³ behold, the hand of Jehovah is upon thy cattle which are in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks: [there shall be] a very grievous murrain.

⁶ But the hand of Jehovah was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with tumors, even Ashdod and the borders thereof. ⁷ And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us; for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

⁹ And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of Jehovah was against the city with a very great discomfiture: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great; and tumors brake out upon them.

¹¹ They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to its own place, that it slay us not, and our people. For there was a deadly discomfiture throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

⁸ Now the king of Syria was warring against Israel; and he took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

²¹ Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends;
For the hand of God hath touched me.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me:
My moisture was changed [as] with the drought of summer. [Selah

² For thine arrows stick fast in me,
And thy hand presseth me sore.

¹⁰ Remove thy stroke away from me:
I am consumed by the blow of thy hand. ¹¹ When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity,
Thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth:

¹⁰ For Jehovah hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your heads, the seers, hath he covered.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.

⁸ And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing; and they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. ⁹ And he was three days without sight, and did neither eat nor drink.

¹⁷ And Ananias departed, and entered into the house; and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, who appeared unto thee in the way which thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

⁷ What then? That which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened: ⁸ according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day. ⁹ And David saith,
Let their table be made a snare, and a trap,
And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them: ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see,
And bow thou down their back always.

²⁵ For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;

³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

¹⁷ These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved.
