²³ The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

¹⁷ LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble: you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear:

⁴ One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

⁴ Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

⁷ And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in you. ⁸ Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

⁵ O that my ways were directed to keep your statutes!

¹⁰ With my whole heart have I sought you: O let me not wander from your commandments.

²⁸ The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

⁷ When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.

⁹ With my soul have I desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
