¹³ You shall not defraud your neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with you all night until the morning.

⁸ If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought to the judges, to see whether he have put his hand to his neighbor's goods. ⁹ For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double to his neighbor.

¹³ If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

¹⁵ But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.

²¹ You shall neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

²⁴ And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. ²⁵ If you lend money to any of my people that is poor by you, you shall not be to him as an usurer, neither shall you lay on him usury. ²⁶ If you at all take your neighbor's raiment to pledge, you shall deliver it to him by that the sun goes down: ²⁷ For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he cries to me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.

³ Or have found that which was lost, and lies concerning it, and swears falsely; in any of all these that a man does, sinning therein:

¹⁴ You shall not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of your brothers, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates: ¹⁵ At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor, and sets his heart on it: lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.

³⁹ If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

¹⁰ Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.

²² Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

³ Thus said the LORD; Execute you judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

¹³ Woe to him that builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that uses his neighbor's service without wages, and gives him not for his work;

²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yes, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

⁵ And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, said the LORD of hosts.

¹⁹ You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor your father and mother.

¹³ And he said to them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

⁶ That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

⁴ Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
