⁹ So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel. ¹⁰ And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not listen. ¹¹ Why the LORD brought on them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon. ¹² And when he was in affliction, he sought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, ¹³ And prayed to him: and he was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

¹⁹ His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

¹¹ For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

²⁵ I, even I, am he that blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and will not remember your sins.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

⁴⁷ Why I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.

¹⁰ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

¹³ And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

⁷ And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. ⁸ And Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. ⁹ And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, as much as he also is a son of Abraham.

⁴³ And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, To day shall you be with me in paradise.

¹⁵ That whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

³⁶ He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God stays on him.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.

³⁷ All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.

⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁴ Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

³¹ But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.

³⁹ And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

⁴ Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But after your hardness and impenitent heart treasure up to yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁴ For whatever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he has made us accepted in the beloved.

¹² That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

⁷ That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

²⁵ Why he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

²⁰ Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

¹⁵ And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given to him has written to you;

¹¹ And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life.
