¹ Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

¹³ And when it was day, he called to him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

¹⁶ You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

²¹ Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be to you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.

² Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:

²⁵ That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. ²⁶ And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
