¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

¹⁵ It cannot be gotten for gold, nor shall silver be weighed for the price of it. ¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. ¹⁷ Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. ¹⁸ No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yea, the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, nor shall it be valued with pure gold.

¹⁰ More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love thy commandments above gold, yea, above fine gold.

¹⁴ For the gain of it is better than the gain of silver, and the profit of it than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and none of the things thou can desire are to be compared to her.

⁵ Get wisdom, get understanding. Do not forget, nor decline from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Do not forsake her, and she will preserve thee. Love her, and she will keep thee. ⁷ Wisdom is the principal thing. Get wisdom, yea, with all thy getting get understanding.

¹⁶ How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

²⁶ For what does it profit a man, if he should gain the whole world, and lose his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
