Lamentations 4:13 Cross References - ACV

13 It is because of the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, who have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her.

Jeremiah 2:20

20 For from old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bonds. And thou said, I will not serve, for upon every high hill and under every green tree thou bowed thyself, playing the harlot.

Jeremiah 5:31

31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means. And my people love to have it so. And what will ye do in the end thereof?

Jeremiah 6:13

Jeremiah 14:14

14 Then LORD said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name. I did not send them, nor have I commanded them, nor did I speak to them. They prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of naught, and the deceit of their own heart.

Jeremiah 23:11-21

11 For both prophet and priest are profane. Yea, in my house I have found their wickedness, says LORD. 12 Therefore their way shall be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They shall be driven on, and fall in it. For I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, says LORD. 13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. 14 In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing. They commit adultery, and walk in lies. And they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none returns from his wickedness. They have all of them become to me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. 15 Therefore thus says LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall. For from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone forth into all the land. 16 Thus says LORD of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of LORD. 17 They say continually to those who despise me, LORD has said, Ye shall have peace. And to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you. 18 For who has stood in the council of LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has marked my word, and heard it? 19 Behold, the tempest of LORD, wrath, has gone forth, yea, a whirling tempest. It shall burst upon the head of the wicked. 20 The anger of LORD shall not return until he has executed, and till he has performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days ye shall understand it perfectly. 21 I did not send these prophets, yet they ran. I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.

Jeremiah 26:8-9

8 And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, Thou shall surely die. 9 Why have thou prophesied in the name of LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered to Jeremiah in the house of LORD.

Lamentations 2:14

14 Thy prophets have seen false and foolish visions for thee. And they have not uncovered thine iniquity, to bring back thy captivity, but have seen for thee false oracles and causes of banishment.

Ezekiel 22:26-28

26 Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, nor have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her rulers in the midst of it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, Thus says the lord LORD, when LORD has not spoken.

Micah 3:11-12

11 The heads of it judge for a bribe, and the priests of it teach for a wage, and the prophets of it divine for money. Yet they lean upon LORD, and say, Is not LORD in the midst of us? No evil shall come upon us. 12 Therefore for your sake Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

Zephaniah 3:3-4

3 Her rulers in the midst of her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing till the morrow. 4 Her prophets are airy and treacherous men. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.

Matthew 23:33-37

33 Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how will ye escape from the damnation of hell? 34 Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scholars. And some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and will persecute from city to city, 35 so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Truly I say to you, that all these things will come upon this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who have been sent to her. And some of them they will kill and persecute, 50 so that the blood of all the prophets that was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I say to you, it will be required of this generation.

Acts 7:52

52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold about the coming of the Righteous man, of whom ye now have become betrayers and murderers,
