¹⁰ And I said to you, I am LORD your God. Ye shall not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell, but ye have not hearkened to my voice.

² I am LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ Thou shall have no other gods before me.

² And ye shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land. Ye shall break down their altars. But ye have not hearkened to my voice. Why have ye done this?

³³ They were afraid of LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.

³⁵ with whom LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them. ³⁶ But LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, him ye shall fear, and to him ye shall bow yourselves, and to him ye shall sacrifice. ³⁷ And the statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore. And ye shall not fear other gods. ³⁸ And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget. Neither shall ye fear other gods, ³⁹ but ye shall ye fear LORD your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

¹³ Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!

¹³ Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou have transgressed against LORD thy God, and have scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, says LORD.

²⁵ Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us, for we have sinned against LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of LORD our God.

¹³ And LORD says, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, nor walked in it,

² Thus says LORD: Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the nations are dismayed at them.

²¹ And I have this day declared it to you. But ye have not obeyed the voice of LORD your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.

⁴ So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.

⁷ and they came into the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the voice of LORD. And they came to Tahpanhes.

² She obeyed not the voice. She received not correction. She trusted not in LORD. She did not draw near to her God.

¹⁶ But not all were obedient to the good news, for Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report?

⁹ And having been fully perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey him,
