⁸ And the sons of Israel gave these cities by lot to the Levites with their suburbs, as LORD commanded by Moses.

² the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the rulers of the congregation, saying,

⁵⁴ And ye shall inherit the land by lot according to your families. To the more ye shall give more inheritance, and to the few thou shall give less inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. Ye shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

³ And they shall have the cities to dwell in, and their suburbs shall be for their cattle, and for their substance, and for all their beasts.

⁶ And ye shall describe the land into seven portions, and bring it here to me. And I will cast lots for you here before LORD our God.

³ And the sons of Israel gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of LORD, these cities with their suburbs:

³³ The lot is cast into the lap, but the whole disposing thereof is of LORD.
