³⁰ and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creeps upon the earth in which there is life, for food-every green herb. And it was so.

³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. As the green herb, I have given you all.

³⁹ Can thou hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions ⁴⁰ when they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? ⁴¹ Who provides for the raven his prey when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?

⁴ Their young ones become strong. They grow up in the open field. They go forth, and return not again.

⁸ The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.

³⁰ Her young ones also suck up blood. And where the slain are, there is she.

¹⁵ Behold now behemoth, which I made as well as thee. He eats grass as an ox.

²⁰ Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herbage for the service of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth,
