²⁸ Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our heart to melt, saying, The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to heaven, and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.

¹⁰ (The Emim dwelt in it formerly, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim. ¹¹ These also are accounted Rephaim, as the Anakim, but the Moabites call them Emim.

²² as he did for the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them. And they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even to this day.

And then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondman. ⁸ And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish, says LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

¹⁰ Yea, he scoffs at kings, and rulers are a derision to him. He derides every stronghold, for he heaps up dust, and takes it. ¹¹ Then he shall sweep by as a wind, and shall pass over, and be guilty; he whose might is his god.
