⁶ Seek LORD, and ye shall live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

⁸ And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these? ⁹ And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me here. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, to me, and I will bless them. ¹⁰ Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near to him, and he kissed them, and embraced them. ¹¹ And Israel said to Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face, and, lo, God has let me see thy seed also. ¹² And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth. ¹³ And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near to him. ¹⁴ And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands deliberately, for Manasseh was the firstborn. ¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ the agent who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. ¹⁷ And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. And he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head. ¹⁸ And Joseph said to his father, Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn, put thy right hand upon his head. ¹⁹ And his father refused, and said, I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. ²⁰ And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee will Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh. And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

⁶ If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns, so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

²⁴ For LORD thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

⁵ And they shall divide it into seven portions: Judah shall abide in his border on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their border on the north.

²² And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel, and LORD was with them. ²³ And the house of Joseph sent to spy out Bethel. (Now the name of the city was formerly Luz.)

²⁰ For thy servant knows that I have sinned. Therefore, behold, I have come this day the first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

²⁸ And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor. And Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he gave him charge over all the labor of the house of Joseph.

³¹ And the strong man shall be as flax, and his work as a spark. And they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

⁶ Seek ye LORD while he may be found. Call ye upon him while he is near.

⁴ Circumcise yourselves to LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

²⁰ Therefore thus says the lord LORD: Behold, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground. And it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

⁴⁷ And say to the forest of the South, Hear the word of LORD. Thus says the lord LORD: Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree. The flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt by it. ⁴⁸ And all flesh shall see that I, LORD, have kindled it. It shall not be quenched.

¹¹ Say to them, As I live, says the lord LORD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked man, but that the wicked man turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways, for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

¹⁹ say to them, Thus says the lord LORD: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions, and I will put them with it, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.

⁴ For thus says LORD to the house of Israel: Seek ye me, and ye shall live.

¹⁴ Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live, and so LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as ye say.

⁶ who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

⁶ And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back. For I have mercy upon them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off. For I am LORD their God, and I will hear them.

⁴³ And if thy hand may cause thee to stumble, cut it off. It is good for thee to enter into life maimed, than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire, ⁴⁴ where their worm does not perish, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁵ And if thy foot may cause thee to stumble, cut it off. It is good for thee to enter into life crippled, than having thy two feet to be cast into hell, into the unquenchable fire ⁴⁶ where their worm does not perish, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁷ And if thine eye may cause thee to stumble, pluck it out. It is good for thee to enter into the kingdom of God one-eyed, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire, ⁴⁸ where their worm does not perish, and the fire is not quenched.
