²⁴ And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver. And he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.

⁸ In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.

¹⁵ He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.

²³ But thou, O God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in thee.

² For the transgression of a land many are the rulers of it. But by men of understanding and knowledge the state shall be prolonged.
