¹⁸ Is not LORD your God with you? And has he not given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before LORD, and before his people.

¹⁰ But when ye go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which LORD your God causes you to inherit, and he gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety, ¹¹ then it shall come to pass that to the place which LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there, there ye shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow to LORD.

⁴ For LORD your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

⁴² And all these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

⁴ And now LORD your God has given rest to your brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now turn ye, and get you to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of LORD gave you beyond the Jordan.

¹ And it came to pass after many days, when LORD had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua was old and well stricken in years,

¹² And the agent of LORD appeared to him, and said to him, LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valor. ¹³ And Gideon said to him, Oh, my lord, if LORD is with us, then why has all this befallen us? And where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now LORD has cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian. ¹⁴ And LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent thee?

²⁸ Forgive, I pray thee, the trespass of thy handmaid. For LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights the battles of LORD, and evil shall not be found in thee all thy days.

¹⁹ And David inquired of LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will thou deliver them into my hand? And LORD said to David, Go up, for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand. ²⁰ And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there. And he said, LORD has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

¹ And it came to pass, when the king dwelt in his house, and LORD had given him rest from all his enemies round about,

⁹ Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest. And I will give him rest from all his enemies round about, for his name shall be Solomon. And I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

²⁵ For David said, LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.

¹ We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou did in their days, in the days of old. ² Thou drove out the nations with thy hand, but thou planted them. Thou afflicted the peoples, but thou spread them abroad. ³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them, but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou were favorable to them. ⁴ Thou are my King, O God. Command deliverance for Jacob. ⁵ Through thee we will push down our adversaries. Through thy name we will tread them under who rise up against us.

³¹ Indeed therefore the congregations throughout the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified. And, going in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

³¹ What then will we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
