² God did not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the Scripture says in the story of Elijah; how he pleads with God against Israel, saying:

¹ AND Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan; and he was led in the Sprit into the wilderness

¹ WHEN therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees heard, that Jesus made and immersed more disciples than John ² (though Jesus himself immersed not, but his disciples), ³ he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

¹¹ The woman says to him: Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From whence then hast thou the living water.

¹⁷ And now, brethren, I know that ye acted in ignorance, as also your rulers.

⁴⁰ saying to Aaron: Make us gods who shall go before us; for as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

⁴⁸ And the Gentiles hearing it rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as were appointed unto eternal life believed.

¹⁸ Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

²⁹ Because whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestined, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

⁶ Not as though the word of God has failed. For not all they are Israel, who are of Israel;

²³ and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory;

² Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

²² But if it be to live in the flesh, this to me is fruit of labor; and which I shall choose I know not;

¹ GOD, who in many parts and in many ways spoke of old to the fathers by the prophets, ² chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.
