² And behold, there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord, descending out of heaven, came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.

⁵¹ And behold, the vail of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were rent; ⁵² and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep arose, ⁵³ and coming out of the tombs, after his resurrection, went into the holy city, and appeared to many.

³ And they said to one another: Who will roll away the stone for us, out of the door of the sepulchre? ⁴ And looking up, they see that the stone has been rolled away. For it was very great. ⁵ And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe; and they were affrighted.

² And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. ³ And entering in, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁴ And it came to pass, that as they were much perplexed concerning this, behold two men stood by them in shining garments. ⁵ And they being afraid and bowing their faces to the earth, they said to them: Why seek ye the living among the dead?

¹ AND on the first day of the week Mary the Magdalene comes early, while it is yet dark, to the sepulchre, and sees the stone taken away out of the sepulchre.

¹² and beholds two angels in white, sitting the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus lay. ¹³ And they say to her: Woman, why weepest thou? She says to them: Because they took away my Lord, and I know not where they laid him.

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and the chains of all were loosed.

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the Gentiles, was believed on in the world, was received up in glory.

¹² to whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you they were ministering them, which now have been announced to you, through those who brought you the good news by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple; and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and a great hail.
