³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Highest; for he is kind to the unthankful and evil.

⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you; ⁴⁵ that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

⁷ and cried with a loud voice, and said: What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, do not torment me.

³² He shall be great, and shall be called Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of David his father;

²⁷ But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, ²⁸ bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. ²⁹ To him who smites thee on the cheek offer also the other; and him who takes away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also. ³⁰ Give to every one that asks of thee; and of him who takes away thy goods demand them not again. ³¹ And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also in like manner to them.

³⁵ By this shall all know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one toward another.

⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and ye shall become my disciples.

¹⁷ although he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, giving you rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.

⁸ But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more therefore, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath through him. ¹⁰ For if, being enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son; much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

¹⁰ In this are manifest the children of God, and the children of the Devil. Every one that does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother; ¹¹ because this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another ¹² Not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. ¹³ Wonder not, brethren, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. ⁸ He that loves not, knew not God; because God is love. ⁹ In this was manifested the love of God in respect to us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son, a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
