²² Because these are the days of vengeance, that all the things which are written may be fulfilled.

²² And all this has come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

¹⁹ For in those days will be affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, neither shall be. ²⁰ And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen, whom he chose, he shortened the days.

⁵ and after thy hardness and impenitent heart, art treasuring up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

⁹ the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust under punishment to the day of judgment;

⁷ but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by his word are kept in store, being reserved for fire unto the day of judgment and of perdition of ungodly men.
