² chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.

²² And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the chosen, those days shall be shortened.

²⁴ For there will arise false Christs, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so as, if possible, to lead even the chosen astray.

³¹ And he will send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

¹⁶ Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you that ye may go and bear fruit, and that your fruit may remain; that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. ¹⁷ These things I command you, that ye love one another. ¹⁸ If the world hates you, ye know that it has hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this the world hates you.

²³ this man, delivered up according to the established counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye slew, crucifying him by the hand of lawless ones;

¹⁸ Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

³² And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, who is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all the sanctified.

⁵ through whom we received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all the nations, for his name's sake;

⁷ to all the beloved of God that are in Rome, called to be saints: Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹³ For if ye live according to the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

²⁹ Because whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestined, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

³³ Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's chosen? God is he that justifies;

²³ and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory; ²⁴ whom he also called, even us, not from among the Jews only, but also from among the Gentiles?

² God did not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the Scripture says in the story of Elijah; how he pleads with God against Israel, saying:

⁵ Even so then, at this present time also, there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, it is no longer of works; otherwise, grace becomes no longer grace. Ancient copies omit the words in brackets. [But if of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise, work is no longer work.] ⁷ What then? What Israel seeks after, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened.

²⁸ As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes; but as concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest in the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles may be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁹ For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I rejoice therefore over you; but I would have you wise as to that which is good, and simple as to that which is evil.

²⁶ but now made manifest, and through the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, made known to all nations for obedience to the faith,

³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God was made wisdom to us, both righteousness and sanctification, and redemption;

¹¹ And such were some of you; but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

⁴ as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love; ⁵ having predestined us unto the adoption of sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

¹² Put on therefore, as God's chosen, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, lowliness of mind, meekness, long-suffering,

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth;

¹⁰ For this cause, I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹ PAUL, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God's chosen, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness;

⁹ and being perfected became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey him;

¹⁹ For, when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and of the goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying: ²⁰ This is the blood of the covenant, which God enjoined in respect to you. ²¹ And moreover, the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the service, he in like manner sprinkled with blood. ²² And nearly all things are cleansed according to the law with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

²² Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having had our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience; and having had our body washed with pure water,

²⁸ Through faith he has kept the passover, and the affusion of the blood, that he who destroyed the first-born might not touch them.

²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better than Abel.

²² Having purified your souls in obeying the truth unto unfeigned brotherly love, love one another from the heart fervently;

⁹ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession; that ye should show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

² Grace and peace be multiplied to you, in the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.

¹ THE elder to the elect lady, and to her children, whom I love in truth,—and not I alone but also all that know the truth,—

¹³ The children of thy elect sister salute thee.

² Mercy, and peace, and love, be multiplied to you.
