YAH SHUA PURIFIES A LEPER
And a leper comes to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, words to him, Whenever you will, you can purify me. ⁴¹ And Yah Shua, with sympathetic spleen, spreads his hand and touches him, and words to him, I will! AUV⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴⁰ Then a person with an infectious skin disease came to Jesus and, kneeling down before Him, begged Him, saying, “If you want to, you can heal me.” [Note: Throughout this narrative the term “heal/healing” is originally “clean/cleansing” because the Jews viewed a person with such a disease as ceremonially “unclean.” See Lev. 13:1-3]. ⁴¹ And being moved with deep pity, Jesus reached out His hand, touched him and said, “I do want to; be healed.” ⁴² And immediately the infectious skin disease left him and he was healed. ⁴³ Jesus sternly warned him, sending him directly out, ⁴⁴ and saying to him, “Make sure you do not say anything to anyone. JMNT⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴⁰ There also is progressively coming toward Him, [to be] face-to-face with Him, a leper (one who has some variety of various skin diseases), repeatedly entreating (imploring) Him to come to his side to give him aid and encouragement, and then proceeding to kneel down, is repeatedly saying to Him, "If you should will it – and would from reason continue intending – you continue able and have the power to cleanse and make me clean." ⁴¹ Now Jesus, being instantly moved with compassion in His inward being [other MSS: emotionally swelling internally from His natural disposition and movement of soul; or: filled with warm indignation], instantly stretching out His hand, touches him, even as He continues in saying to him, "I continually will it and am habitually intending to! NSB⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴⁰ A man with leprosy knelt in front of Jesus and begged to be healed. »If you want to, you can make me well,« he said. ⁴¹ Moved with compassion Jesus touched him. »I want to,« he said. »Be healed!« ⁴² Instantly the leprosy disappeared and man was healed. ⁴³ Jesus sent him away and warned him. »Go directly to the priest and let him examine you. ⁴⁴ »Do not talk to anyone along the way. Soon crowds surrounded Jesus and he could not enter a town publicly. He had to stay in secluded places and people continued to come to him.
