Jeremiah 20:7-18

  7 G538 You deceived G1473 me, G2962 O lord, G2532 and G538 I was deceived. G2902 You held G2532 and G1410 prevailed. G1096 I became G1519 for G1071 laughter. G3956 Every G2250 day G1300 I continue G3456 being sneered at.
  8 G3754 For G4089 [3bitter G3056 4word G1473 2 with my G1070 1I shall laugh], G112.1 [2rebellion G2532 3and G5004 4misery G1941 1I will call upon]; G3754 for G1096 [4became G3588 1the G3056 2word G2962 3 of the lord] G1519 for G3680 scorning G1473 to me, G2532 and G1519 for G5512.2 taunting G3956 all G2250 day.
  9 G2532 And G2036 I said, G3766.2 in no way G3687 shall I name G3588 the G3686 name G2962 of the lord, G2532 and G3766.2 in no way G2980 shall I speak G2089 yet G1909 in G3588   G3686 his name. G1473   G2532 And G1096 it became G5613 as G4442 [2fire G2545 1a burning], G5392.2 blazing G1722 in G3588   G3747 my bones; G1473   G2532 and G3935 I am weakened G3840 from all sides, G2532 and G3756 I am not G1410 able G5342 to bear up .
  10 G3754 For G191 I heard G5589.2 the fault G4183 of many G4867 gathering together G2943 round about, saying, G1997.1 Rise up together against him! G2532 And, G1997.1 We should rise up together G1909 against G1473 him -- G3956 all G435 [2men G5384 3friends G1473 1his]. G5083 Give heed to G3588   G1963 his thought! G1473   G1487 if G538 he should be deceived, G2532 and G1410 we shall prevail G1473 against him, G2532 then G2983 we shall take G3588   G1557 our vengeance G1473   G1537 on G1473 him.
  11 G3588 But the G1161   G2962 lord G3326 is with G1473 me G2531 as G3163.2 [2warrior G2480 1a strengthening]. G1223 On account of G3778 this G1377 they pursued, G2532 but G3539 [3to comprehend G3756 1they were not G1410 2able]. G153 They were shamed G4970 exceedingly; G3754 for G3756 they did not G3539 comprehend G819 their dishonor, G1473   G3739 which G1223 through G165 the eon G3756 will not G1950 be forgotten.
  12 G2962 O lord, G1381 trying G1342 just things, G4920 perceiving G3510 the kidneys G2532 and G2588 heart; G1492 may I behold G3588 the G3844 [2by G1473 3you G1557 1punishment] G1722 on G1473 them. G3754 For G4314 to G1473 you G601 I uncovered G3588   G626.1 my pleas in defense. G1473
13 G103 Sing G3588 to the G2962 lord! G134 Praise G1473 him! G3754 for G1807 he rescued G3588 the G5590 soul G3993 of the needy G1537 from out of G5495 the hand G4731 of the most substantial ones.
  14 G1944 Cursed G3588 is the G2250 day G1722 in G3739 which G5088 I was birthed G1722 in G1473 it, G3588 the G2250 day G1722 in G3739 which G5088 [2gave birth to G1473 3me G3588   G3384 1my mother]; G1473   G3361 let it not G1510.5 be G1906.3 longed for!
  15 G1944 Cursed is G3588 the G444 man G3588   G2097 announcing good news G3588 to G3962 my father, G1473   G3004 saying, G5088 There was birthed G1473 to you G730 a male child, G2165 [2making merry G1510.2.6 1they are].
  16 G1510.5 [1Let 3be G3588   G444 2that man] G1565   G5613 as G3588 the G4172 cities G3739 which G2690 the lord eradicated G2962   G1722 in G2372 rage, G2532 and G3756 he did not G3338 repent! G191 Let him hear G2906 the cry G4404 in the morning, G2532 and G213.2 the shout G3314 at midday!
  17 G3754 For G3756 he did not G615 kill G1473 me G1722 in G3388 the womb G3384 of my mother, G1473   G2532 for G1096 [2to be G1473 3to me G3588   G3384 1my mother] G1473   G5028 my burying-place, G1473   G2532 and G3588 the G3388 womb G4816.1 [2conception G166 1an everlasting].
  18 G2444 Why G3778 is this G1831 that I came forth G1537 from out of G3388 the womb G3588   G991 to see G2873 toils G2532 and G4192 miseries; G2532 and G1300 [2continue G1722 3in G152 4shame G3588   G2250 1my days]? G1473

  7 H3068 O LORD, H6601 [H8765] thou hast deceived H6601 [H8735] me, and I was deceived: H2388 [H8804] thou art stronger H3201 [H8799] than I, and hast prevailed: H7814 I am in derision H3117 daily, H3932 [H8802] every one mocketh me.
  8 H1767 For since H1696 [H8762] I spoke, H2199 [H8799] I cried out, H7121 [H8799] I called H2555 violence H7701 and spoil; H1697 because the word H3068 of the LORD H2781 was made a reproach H7047 to me, and a derision, H3117 daily.
9 H559 [H8804] Then I said, H2142 [H8799] I will not make mention H1696 [H8762] of him, nor speak H8034 any more in his name. H3820 But his word was in my heart H1197 [H8802] as a burning H784 fire H6113 [H8803] shut up H6106 in my bones, H3811 [H8738] and I was weary H3557 [H8771] with forbearing, H3201 [H8799] and I could not refrain.
10 H8085 [H8804] For I heard H1681 the defaming H7227 of many, H4032 fear H5439 on every side. H5046 [H8685] Report, H5046 [H8686] say they, and we will report H582 H7965 it. All my friends H8104 [H8802] watched H6763 H6761 [H8676] for my fall, H6601 [H8792] saying, Perhaps he will be enticed, H3201 [H8799] and we shall prevail H3947 [H8799] against him, and we shall take H5360 our revenge on him.
11 H3068 But the LORD H1368 is with me as a mighty H6184 terrible one: H7291 [H8802] therefore my persecutors H3782 [H8735] shall stumble, H3201 [H8799] and they shall not prevail: H3966 they shall be greatly H954 [H8804] pale; H7919 [H8689] for they shall not prosper: H5769 their everlasting H3639 disgrace H7911 [H8735] shall never be forgotten.
12 H3068 But, O LORD H6635 of hosts, H974 [H8802] that triest H6662 the righteous, H7200 [H8802] and seest H3629 the kidneys H3820 and the heart, H7200 [H8799] let me see H5360 thy vengeance H1540 [H8765] on them: for to thee have I opened H7379 my cause.
13 H7891 [H8798] Sing H3068 to the LORD, H1984 [H8761] praise H3068 ye the LORD: H5337 [H8689] for he hath delivered H5315 the breath H34 of the poor H3027 from the hand H7489 [H8688] of evildoers.
  14 H779 [H8803] Cursed H3117 be the day H3205 [H8795] when I was born: H3117 let not the day H517 when my mother H3205 [H8804] bore H1288 [H8803] me be blessed.
  15 H779 [H8803] Cursed H376 be the man H1319 [H8765] who brought tidings H1 to my father, H559 [H8800] saying, H2145 H1121 A son H3205 [H8795] is born H8055 [H8763] to thee; making him very H8055 [H8765] glad.
  16 H376 And let that man H5892 be as the cities H3068 which the LORD H2015 [H8804] overthrew, H5162 [H8738] and sighed H8085 [H8804] not: and let him hear H2201 the outcry H1242 in the morning, H8643 and the shouting H6256 H6672 at noon;
17 H4191 [H8790] Because he slew H7358 me not in the womb; H517 or that my mother H6913 might have been my burying-place, H7358 and her womb H5769 to be always H2030 great with me.
18 H3318 [H8804] Why was I brought H7358 out of the womb H7200 [H8800] to see H5999 labour H3015 and sorrow, H3117 that my days H3615 [H8799] should be consumed H1322 with shame?

MSTC(i) 7 O LORD, thou makest me weak, but thou refreshest me, and makest me strong again. All the day long am I despised, and laughed to scorn of every man: 8 because I have now preached long against malicious Tyranny, and showed them of destruction. For the which cause they cast the word of the LORD in my teeth, and take me ever to the worst. 9 Wherefore, I thought from henceforth not to speak of him, nor to preach anymore in his name. But the word of the LORD was a very burning fire in my heart and in my bones, which when I would have stopped, I might not. 10 For why? I heard so many derisions and blasphemies, yea even of my own companions, and such as were conversant with me: which went about, to make me afraid, saying, "Upon him; let us go upon him, to fear him, and make him hold his tongue: that we may overcome him, and be avenged of him." 11 But the LORD stood by me, like a mighty giant: therefore my persecutors fell, and could do nothing. They shall be sore confounded, for they have done unwisely, they shall have an everlasting shame. 12 And now, O LORD of Hosts, thou righteous searcher which knowest the reins and the very hearts: let me see them punished, for unto thee I commit my cause. 13 Sing unto the LORD, and praise him, for he hath delivered the soul of the oppressed, from the hand of the violent. 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born! Unhappy be the day, wherein my mother brought me forth! 15 Cursed be the man, that brought my father the tidings, to make him glad, saying, "Thou hast gotten a son." 16 Let it happen unto that man, as to the cities which the LORD turned upside down, when he had long heard the wicked rumor of them; 17 because he slew me not, as soon as I came out of my mother's womb, and because my mother was not my grave herself, that the birth might not have come out, but remained still in her. 18 Wherefore came I forth of my mother's womb? To have experience of labour and sorrow? And to lead my life with shame?

Geneva(i) 7 O Lord, thou hast deceiued me, and I am deceiued: thou art stronger then I, and hast preuailed: I am in derision daily: euery one mocketh me. 8 For since I spake, I cryed out of wrong, and proclaimed desolation: therefore the word of the Lord was made a reproche vnto me, and in derision daily. 9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speake any more in his Name. But his worde was in mine heart as a burning fire shut vp in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. 10 For I had heard the railing of many, and feare on euery side. Declare, said they, and wee wil declare it: all my familiars watched for mine halting, saying, It may be that he is deceiued: so we shall preuaile against him, and we shall execute our vengeance vpon him. 11 But the Lord is with me like a mightie gyant: therefore my persecuters shall be ouerthrowen, and shall not preuaile, and shalbe greatly confounded: for they haue done vnwisely, and their euerlasting shame shall neuer be forgotten. 12 But, O Lord of hostes, that tryest the righteous, and seest the reines and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for vnto thee haue I opened my cause. 13 Sing vnto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath deliuered the soule of the poore from the hande of the wicked. 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was borne: and let not the day wherein my mother bare me, be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man, that shewed my father, saying, A man child is borne vnto thee, and comforted him. 16 And let that man be as the cities, which the Lord hath ouerturned and repented not: and let him heare the cry in the morning, and the showting at noone tide, 17 Because he hath not slaine me, euen from the wombe, or that my mother might haue bene my graue, or her wobe a perpetual conception. 18 How is it, that I came forth of the wombe, to see labour and sorowe, that my dayes shoulde be consumed with shame?
Bishops(i) 7 O Lord, if I am deceaued, then hast thou deceaued me, thou enforcedst me, and hast preuayled: dayly am I despised and laughed to scorne of euery man 8 For since I began to preache, I cryed out against violencie, and exclamed against oppression: for the whiche cause they cast the worde of the Lorde in my teeth, to my reproche continually 9 Wherefore I thought from hencefoorth not to speake of hym, nor to preache any more in his name: but the worde of the Lorde was a very burning fire in my heart and in my bones, whiche when I woulde haue stopped, I might not 10 Ueryly I hearde the euyll reportes of many, terrour was on euery side of me: complayne vpon hym say they, and we wyll tell his tale: Yea all myne owne companions, and suche as were conuersaunt with me, lay in wayte for my halting, saying: peraduenture he wylbe deceaued, and so shall we preuayle against hym, and be auenged of hym 11 But the Lorde stoode by me lyke a mightie giaunt, therefore my persecutours fell and coulde do nothing: they shalbe sore confounded, for they haue done vnwisely, they shall haue an euerlasting shame, which shall neuer be forgotten 12 And nowe O Lorde of hoastes that triest the righteous, which knowest the raynes and the very heartes, let me see them punished: for vnto thee I haue declared my cause 13 Sing vnto the Lord and prayse hym, for he hath deliuered the soule of the oppressed from the hande of the violent 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was borne, vnhappy be the day wherein my mother brought me foorth 15 Cursed be the man that brought my father the tidinges to make hym gald, saying, Thou hast begotten a sonne 16 Let it happen vnto that man, as to the cities whiche the Lorde turned vpsidedowne and repented not: Let hym heare crying in the morning, and at noone day lamentable howling 17 Why sluest thou not me assoone as I came out of my mothers wombe? or that my mother had ben my graue her selfe, that the byrth might not haue come out, but remayned still in her 18 Wherefore came I foorth of my mothers wombe? to haue experience of labour and sorowe, and to leade my lyfe with shame
DouayRheims(i) 7 Thou hast deceived me, O Lord, and I am deceived: thou hast been stronger than I, and thou hast prevailed. I am become a laughingstock all the day, all scoff at me. 8 For I am speaking now this long time, crying out against iniquity, and I often proclaim devastation: and the word of the Lord is made a reproach to me, and a derision all the day. 9 Then I said: I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name: and there came in my heart as a burning fire, shut up in my bones, and I was wearied, not being able to bear it. 10 For I heard the reproaches of many, and terror on every side: Persecute him, and let us persecute him: from all the men that were my familiars, and continued at my side: if by any means he may be deceived, and we may prevail against him, and be revenged on him. 11 But the Lord is with me as a strong warrior: therefore they that persecute me shall fall, and shall be weak: they shall be greatly confounded, because they have not understood the everlasting reproach, which never shall be effaced. 12 And thou, O Lord of hosts, prover of the just, who seest the reins and the heart: let me see, I beseech thee, thy vengeance on them: for to thee I have laid open my cause. 13 Sing ye to the Lord, praise the Lord: because he hath delivered the soul of the poor out of the hand of the wicked. 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day in which my mother bore me, be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man that brought the tidings to my father, saying: A man child is born to thee: and made him greatly rejoice. 16 Let that man be as the cities which the Lord hath overthrown, and hath not repented: let him hear a cry in the morning, and howling at noontide: 17 Who slew me not from the womb, that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb an everlasting conception. 18 Why came I out of the womb, to see labour and sorrow, and that my days should be spent in confusion?

Thomson(i) 7 [p] Hast thou, Lord deceived me? and have I been deceived? Thou hast taken hold and hast prevailed. I am become a subject of laughter: all the day long I endure reproach. 8 Because for my bitter word I am to be derided, shall I appeal to a breach of covenant and misery? because the word of the Lord became a reproach to me; a subject of mockery all the day long; 9 therefore I said, I will not name the name of the Lord; I will not speak any more in his name. But there was kindled as it were a burning fire in my bones and I became dejected and cannot bear it. 10 Because I heard the whisper of many collected from all around saying, "Join in conspiracy and let us all conspire against him; ye men who are his friends watch his thoughts; if he can be deceived, we shall then prevail over him and take our revenge on him." 11 But the Lord was with me as a mighty warrior, therefore they persecuted and could not contrive. They were put to great confusion. Because they had not a due sense of their infamous practices, which are never to be forgotten; 12 Lord, who provest righteous things, who knowest reins and hearts I might have seen thy vengeance on them. For to thee I laid open my cause. 13 Sing to the Lord; sing praises to him, because he hath rescued the soul of the needy out of the hand of evil doers." 14 Let the day be cursed in which I was born; the day in which my mother bore me; Let it not be mentioned with expressions of joy. 15 Let the man be cursed who brought tidings to my father saying, A male child is borne to thee making him glad. 16 Let that man be like the cities which the Lord overthrew in wrath and relented not, Let him hear a scream in the morning and the cry of Woe at noon-day, 17 because he did not kill me in the womb, and my mother was not made my grave, and her womb always with child." 18 To what purpose this? I came forth from the womb to see labours and sorrows, and my days have been spent in shame.

Leeser(i) 7 Thou didst persuade me, O Lord, and I was persuaded; thou laidst thy hand strongly on me, and didst prevail: I am laughed at all the time, every one mocketh me. 8 For as often as I speak must I cry out, violence and wasting must I proclaim; because the word of the Lord is become unto me a disgrace, and a derision, all the time. 9 And I thought, I will not make mention of him, and I will not speak any more in his name. But it became in my heart as a burning fire enclosed within my bones, and I was weary with enduring, and I could not overcome it. 10 For I heard the defaming of many, angry assemblies on every side, “Tell, and we will tell of him.” All the men who ought to seek my welfare, watch for my fall; saying, “Peradventure he may he enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we will then take our revenge on him.” 11 But the Lord is with me as a mighty powerful one; therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they will not prevail: they will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper; it is an everlasting confusion which will never be forgotten. 12 But, O Lord of hosts, that probest the righteous, seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I laid open my cause. 13 Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord; for he hath delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evil-doers. 14 Cursed be the day whereon I was born: the day on which my mother bore me shall not be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man-child is born unto thee. How very glad did he make him! 16 And may that same man become like the cities which the Lord overthrew, and bethought himself not; and may he hear a cry of anguish in the morning, and a tumultuous noise at noontide; 17 Because I was not slain as I escaped from the womb; or that my mother might have become unto me my grave, and her womb have been affected with a perpetual pregnancy. 18 Wherefore was this that I came forth out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow, that my days should pass away in shame?
YLT(i) 7 Thou hast persuaded me, O Jehovah, and I am persuaded; Thou hast hardened me, and dost prevail, I have been for a laughter all the day, Every one is mocking at me, 8 Because from the time I speak I cry out, `Violence and destruction,' I cry, For the word of Jehovah hath been to me For reproach and for derision all the day. 9 And I said, `I do not mention Him, Nor do I speak any more in His name,' And it hath been in my heart As a burning fire shut up in my bones, And I have been weary of containing, And I am not able. 10 For I have heard the evil report of many, Fear is round about: `Declare, and we declare it,' All mine allies are watching for my halting, `Perhaps he is enticed, and we prevail over him, And we take our vengeance out of him.' 11 And Jehovah is with me, as a terrible mighty one, Therefore my persecutors stumble and prevail not, They have been exceedingly ashamed, For they have not acted wisely, Confusion age-during is not forgotten. 12 And, O Jehovah of Hosts, trier of the righteous, Beholder of reins and heart, I do see Thy vengeance out of them, For unto Thee I have revealed my cause. 13 Sing ye to Jehovah, praise Jehovah, For He hath delivered the soul of the needy From the hand of evil doers.
14 Cursed is the day in which I was born, The day that my mother bare me, Let it not be blessed! 15 Cursed is the man who bore tidings to my father, saying, `Born to thee hath been a child—a male,' Making him very glad! 16 Then hath that man been as the cities, That Jehovah overthrew, and repented not, And he hath heard a cry at morning, And a shout at time of noon. 17 Because he hath not put me to death from the womb, And my mother is to me—my grave, And her womb a pregnancy age-during. 18 Why is this? from the womb I have come out, To see labour and sorrow, Yea, consumed in shame are my days!

BBE(i) 7 O Lord, you have been false to me, and I was tricked; you are stronger than I, and have overcome me: I have become a thing to be laughed at all the day, everyone makes sport of me. 8 For every word I say is a cry for help; I say with a loud voice, Violent behaviour and wasting: because the word of the Lord is made a shame to me and a cause of laughing all the day. 9 And if I say, I will not keep him in mind, I will not say another word in his name; then it is in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am tired of keeping myself in, I am not able to do it. 10 For numbers of them say evil secretly in my hearing there is fear on every side: they say, Come, let us give witness against him; all my nearest friends, who are watching for my fall, say, It may be that he will be taken by deceit, and we will get the better of him and give him punishment. 11 But the Lord is with me as a great one, greatly to be feared: so my attackers will have a fall, and they will not overcome me: they will be greatly shamed, because they have not done wisely, even with an unending shame, kept in memory for ever. 12 But, O Lord of armies, testing the upright and seeing the thoughts and the heart, let me see your punishment come on them; for I have put my cause before you. 13 Make melody to the Lord, give praise to the Lord: for he has made the soul of the poor man free from the hands of the evil-doers. 14 A curse on the day of my birth: let there be no blessing on the day when my mother had me. 15 A curse on the man who gave the news to my father, saying, You have a male child; making him very glad. 16 May that man be like the towns overturned by the Lord without mercy: let a cry for help come to his ears in the morning, and the sound of war in the middle of the day; 17 Because he did not put me to death before my birth took place: so my mother's body would have been my last resting-place, and she would have been with child for ever. 18 Why did I come from my mother's body to see pain and sorrow, so that my days might be wasted with shame?

Tell, and we tell! - all my men of shalom guard at my limping side, Perhaps he is deluded; and we prevail against him; and we take our avengement on him. 11 And Yah Veh is with me as a mighty tyrant: so my pursuers falter and they prevail not: they shame mightily; for they comprehend not: their eternal confusion is not forgotten. 12 And O Yah Veh Sabaoth, who proofs the just and sees the reins and the heart, I see your avengement on them: for to you I expose my plea. 13 Sing to Yah Veh; halal Yah Veh: for he rescues the soul of the needy from the hand of vilifiers. 14 Curse the day I was birthed; bless not the day my mother birthed me. 15 Curse the man who evangelized to my father, saying, A male son is birthed to you; in cheering, cheer him: 16 so be that man, as the cities Yah Veh turned against and sighed not - to hear the cry in the morning, and the shout at noon time: 17 because he executed me not from the womb that my mother become my tomb and her womb eternally great. 18 Why came I forth from the womb - to see toil and grief?   14 H779 Cursed H3117 is the day H3205 in which I was born: H3117 don't let the day H517 in which my mother H3205 bore H1288 me be blessed.
15 H779 Cursed H376 is the man H1319 who brought news H1 to my father, H559 saying, H1121 A H2145 boy H3205 is born H8055 to you; making him very H8055 glad.
  16 H376 Let that man H5892 be as the cities H3068 which Yahweh H2015 overthrew, H5162 and didn't repent: H8085 and let him hear H2201 a cry H1242 in the morning, H8643 and shouting H6256 at noontime;
17 H4191 because he didn't kill H7358 me from the womb; H517 and so my mother H6913 would have been my grave, H7358 and her womb H5769 always H2030 great.
18 H3318 Why came I forth H7358 out of the womb H7200 to see H5999 labor H3015 and sorrow, H3117 that my days H3615 should be consumed H1322 with shame?
NHEB(i) 7 LORD, you have persuaded me, and I was persuaded. You are stronger than I am, and have prevailed. I have become a laughing-stock all day long; everyone mocks me. 8 For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, "Violence and destruction." because the word of the LORD is made a reproach to me, and a derision, all the day. 9 If I say, "I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name," then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I can't contain it. 10 For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. "Denounce, and we will denounce him," say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall; "perhaps he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him." 11 But the LORD is with me as an awesome mighty one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail; they shall be utterly disappointed, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which shall never be forgotten. 12 But, the LORD of hosts, who tests the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them; for to you have I revealed my cause. 13 Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD; for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers. 14 Cursed is the day in which I was born: do not let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. 15 Cursed is the man who brought news to my father, saying, A boy is born to you; making him very glad. 16 Let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and did not repent: and let him hear a cry in the morning, and shouting at noontime; 17 because he did not kill me from the womb; and so my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always great. 18 Why came I forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

ISV(i) 7 Jeremiah’s Complaint to the LORDYou deceived me, LORD, and I’ve been deceived. You overpowered me, and you prevailed. I’ve become a laughing stock all day long, and everyone mocks me. 8 Indeed, as often as I speak, I cry out, and shout, “Violence and destruction!” For this message from the LORD has caused me constant reproach and derision. 9 When I say, “I won’t remember the LORD, nor will I speak in his name anymore, then there is this burning fire in my heart. It is bound up in my bones, I grow weary of trying to hold it in, and I cannot do it! 10 Indeed, I hear many people whispering, “Terror on every side. Denounce him, let’s denounce him!” All my close friends watch my steps and say, “Perhaps he will be deceived, and we can prevail against him and take vengeance on him.” 11 But the LORD is with me like a fearsome warrior. Therefore, those who pursue me will stumble and won’t prevail. They’ll be put to great shame, when they don’t succeed. Their everlasting disgrace won’t be forgotten. 12 LORD of the Heavenly Armies, who tests the righteous, who sees the inner motives and the heart, let me see you take vengeance on them, for I’ve committed my case to you. 13 Sing to the LORD, give praise to the LORD! For he saves the life of the poor from the hand of the wicked.
14 Jeremiah Curses the Day of His BirthLet the day on which I was born be cursed. Don’t let the day on which my mother gave birth to me be blessed. 15 Cursed is the person who brought the good news to my father, “A baby boy has been born to you,” making him very happy. 16 May that man be like the cities that the LORD overthrew without compassion. Let him hear a cry in the morning, and a battle cry at noon, 17 because he didn’t kill me in the womb, so that my mother would have been my grave and her womb forever pregnant. 18 Why did I ever come out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow, and to finish my life living in shame?

For the word of the LORD has become to me a reproach and derision all day long. 9 If I say, “I will not mention Him or speak any more in His name,” His message becomes a fire burning in my heart, shut up in my bones, and I become weary of holding it in, and I cannot prevail. 10 For I have heard the whispering of many: “Terror is on every side! Report him; let us report him!” All my trusted friends watch for my fall: “Perhaps he will be deceived so that we may prevail against him and take our vengeance upon him.” 11 But the LORD is with me like a fearsome warrior. Therefore, my persecutors will stumble and will not prevail. Since they have not succeeded, they will be utterly put to shame, with an everlasting disgrace that will never be forgotten. 12 O LORD of Hosts, who examines the righteous, who sees the heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance upon them, for to You I have committed my cause. 13 Sing to the LORD! Praise the LORD! For He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of evildoers. 14 Cursed be the day I was born! May the day my mother bore me never be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man who brought my father the news, saying, “A son is born to you,” bringing him great joy. 16 May that man be like the cities that the LORD overthrew without compassion. May he hear an outcry in the morning and a battle cry at noon, 17 because he did not kill me in the womb so that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb forever enlarged. 18 Why did I come out of the womb to see only trouble and sorrow, and to end my days in shame?

MLV(i) 7 O Jehovah, you have persuaded me and I was persuaded. You are stronger than I and have prevailed. I have become a laughing-stock all the day; everyone mocks me. 8 For as often as I speak, I cry out. I cry, Violence and destruction! Because the word of Jehovah is made a reproach to me and a ridicule, all the day.
9 And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones and I am weary with forbearing and I cannot.
10 For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. Perhaps he will be persuaded and we will prevail against him and we will take our revenge on him.
11 But Jehovah is with me as an awesome mighty one. Therefore my persecutors will stumble and they will not prevail. They will be utterly put to shame, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which will never be forgotten.
12 But, O Jehovah of hosts, who tries the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have revealed my cause.
13 Sing to Jehovah. Praise Jehovah, for he has delivered the soul of the needy man from the hand of evildoers.
14 Cursed be the day in which I was born. Do not let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man who brought news to my father, saying, A male-child is born to you, making him very glad. 16 And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew and did not relent. And let him hear a cry in the morning and shouting at noontime, 17 because he did not kill me from the womb and so my mother would have been my grave and her womb always great.
18 Why did I come forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

VIN(i) 7 O LORD, you have deceived me, and I was deceived: you are stronger than I, and have prevailed: I am in derision daily, everyone mocks me. 8 Each time I speak, I cry aloud. I proclaim violence and destruction! For me the word of the LORD has resulted in reproach and derision all day long. 9 If I say, I will not make mention of him, or speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones. I am weary with holding it in. I can’t. 10 Indeed, I hear many people whispering, "Terror on every side. Denounce him, let's denounce him!" All my close friends watch my steps and say, "Perhaps he will be deceived, and we can prevail against him and take vengeance on him." 11 But the LORD is with me like a powerful warrior. Therefore my persecutors will stumble and will not prevail. They will be very ashamed, for they will not achieve success. Their everlasting insult will not be forgotten. 12 But, O LORD Almighty, who tries the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have revealed my cause. 13 Sing to the LORD, give praise to the LORD! For he saves the life of the poor from the hand of the wicked. 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born; the day wherein my mother bore me, let it not be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man, that brought my father the tidings, to make him glad, saying, "Thou hast gotten a son." 16 May that man be like the cities that the LORD overthrew without compassion. Let him hear a cry in the morning, and a battle cry at noon, 17 because he did not kill me in the womb, and my mother was not made my grave, and her womb always with child." 18 Why did I come out from the womb, to see toil, and sorrow, and to end my days in shame?

DarbyFR(i) 7
Segond(i) 7 Tu m'as persuadé, Eternel, et je me suis laissé persuader; Tu m'as saisi, tu m'as vaincu.

Paditeni dhe do ta padisim!".
Croatian(i) 7 Ti me zavede, o Jahve, i dadoh se zavesti, nadjačao si me i svladao me. A sada sam svima na podsmijeh iz dana u dan, svatko me ismijava. 8 Jer kad god progovorim, moram vikati, naviještati moram: "Nasilje! Propast!"
16 A nechť jest ten muž podobný městům, kteráž podvrátil Hospodin, a neželel; nebo slyšel křik v jitře, a provyskování v čas polední.

"Ilmiantakaa!
Haitian(i) 7 Seyè, ou pran tèt mwen, wi, mwen kite ou pran tèt mwen. Ou pi fò pase m'. Se ou ki genyen. Tout lajounen moun ap ri m'. Yo tout ap pase m' nan rizib. 8 Chak fwa pou m' pale se rele pou m' rele. M'ap di byen fò: Men y'ap kraze brize! Men y'ap piye! Paske lè m'ap fè konnen mesaj ou, y'ap fè m' wont, y'ap pase m' nan betiz. 9 Men, lè m' di: Mwen p'ap nonmen non Seyè a, mwen p'ap pale nan non l' ankò, mesaj ou yo te tankou yon dife nan zo m' k'ap boule tout anndan m'. Mwen fè sa m' kapab pou enpoze l' soti. Malgre sa, li soti soti l'. 10 Mwen tande tout moun ap di: -Any! Kote moun pase yo pè! Annou denonse l' bay otorite yo. Ata pi bon zanmi m' yo ap tann konsa mwen fè yon fo pa. Y'ap di: Nou ka pran pawòl nan bouch li pou antrave l'. Lè sa a, n'a met men sou li, n'a tire revanj nou. 11 Men, Seyè a kanpe la avè mwen. 13 Chante pou Seyè a. Fè lwanj li! Li rache pòv malere yo anba men mechan yo. 14 Madichon pou jou mwen te fèt la!
Bencana!" TUHAN, aku diejek dan dihina setiap waktu, karena menyampaikan pesan-Mu. 9 Tapi bila dalam hatiku aku berkata, "Biarlah TUHAN kulupakan saja, tak mau lagi aku berbicara atas nama-Nya," maka pesan-Mu bagaikan api yang membara di hati sanubari. Telah kucoba menahannya, tapi ternyata aku tak kuasa. 10 Terdengar orang berbisik di mana-mana, "Ketakutan merajalela! Mari laporkan dia kepada yang berkuasa!" Bahkan semua sahabat karibku menantikan kejatuhanku.

Viešpaties žodis tapo man plūdimu ir kasdienėmis patyčiomis. 18 Przeczżem wyszedł z żywota, abym doznał pracy i smutku, a żeby dni moje w hańbie strawione były?
Norwegian(i) 7 Herre! 13 Syng for Herren, lov Herren!
