A poruncit să piardă pe toţi înţelepţii Babilonului. ¹³ Hotărîrea ieşise, înţelepţii începuseră să fie omorîţi, şi căutau şi pe Daniel şi pe tovarăşii lui, ca să -i piardă. ¹⁴ Atunci Daniel a vorbit cu minte şi cu judecată lui Arioc, căpetenia străjerilor împăratului, care ieşise să omoare pe înţelepţii Babilonului.

Ukrainian⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹² За це цар розгнівався, та сильно розпінився, і наказав вигубити всіх вавилонських мудреців. ¹³ І вийшов наказ, і вбивали мудреців, і шукано Даниїла та його товаришів, щоб повбивати. ¹⁴ Того часу Даниїл розповів розважно та розумно Арйохові, начальникові царської сторожі, що вийшов був побивати вавилонських мудреців.
