Whiston⁽ⁱ⁾ ²¹ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor may they ever be again. ²² And except those days should be shortned, there shall no flesh escape: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortned. ²³ Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or there: ye shall not believe [it]. ²⁴ For there will be raised false Christs, and false prophets, and will shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that if possible the very elect should be deceived.
