Romans 4:1-8

Wesley(i) 1 What shall we say then? That our father Abraham hath found according to the flesh? 2 If Abraham was justified by works, he hath whereof to glory: but he hath not in the sight of God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is imputed to him for righteousness. 6 So David also describeth the happiness of the man, to whom God imputeth righteousness without works: 7 Happy are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 Happy is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
