3 H796 And when they of Ashdod H7925 [H8686] arose early H4283 on the next morning H1712 , behold, Dagon H5307 [H8802] had fallen H6440 upon his face H776 to the earth H6440 before H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD H3947 [H8799] . And they took H1712 Dagon H7725 0 , and set H4725 him in his place H7725 [H8686] again.

6 H3027 But the hand H3068 of the LORD H3513 [H8799] was heavy H796 upon them of Ashdod H8074 [H8686] , and he destroyed H5221 [H8686] them, and smote H2914 H6076 [H8675] them with haemorrhoids H795 , even Ashdod H1366 and its land.

7 H582 And when the men H795 of Ashdod H7200 [H8799] saw H559 [H8804] that it was so, they said H727 , The ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H3427 [H8799] shall not abide H3027 with us: for his hand H7185 [H8804] is heavy H1712 upon us, and upon Dagon H430 our god.

8 H7971 [H8799] They sent H622 [H8799] therefore and gathered H5633 all the lords H6430 of the Philistines H559 [H8799] to them, and said H6213 [H8799] , What shall we do H727 with the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] ? And they answered H727 , Let the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H5437 [H8735] be carried about H1661 to Gath H5437 [H8686] . And they carried H727 the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel there.

9 H310 And it was so, that, after H5437 [H8689] they had carried it H3027 there, the hand H3068 of the LORD H5892 was against the city H3966 with a very H1419 great H4103 destruction H5221 [H8686] : and he smote H582 the men H5892 of the city H6996 , both small H1419 and great H2914 H6076 [H8675] , and they had haemorrhoids H8368 [H8735] in their secret parts.

And it came to pass, as the ark H430 of God H935 [H8800] came H6138 to Ekron H6139 , that the Ekronites H2199 [H8799] cried out H559 [H8800] , saying H5437 [H8689] , They have brought about H727 the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H4191 [H8687] to us, to slay H5971 us and our people.

11 H7971 [H8799] So they sent H622 [H8799] and gathered together H5633 all the lords H6430 of the Philistines H559 [H8799] , and said H7971 [H8761] , Send away H727 the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H7725 [H8799] , and let it go again H4725 to its own place H4191 [H8686] , that it slay H5971 us not, and our people H4194 : for there was a deadly H4103 destruction H5892 throughout all the city H3027 ; the hand H430 of God H3966 was very H3513 [H8804] heavy there.

12 H582 And the men H4191 [H8804] that died H5221 [H8717] not were smitten H2914 H6076 [H8675] with the haemorrhoids H7775 : and the cry H5892 of the city H5927 [H8799] went up H8064 to heaven.
